That too the Indian railways is working on they had already allowed 100% FDI in Railways and Alstom will start its production in 2018. I agree that and also say that whichever routes which are possible for electric traction should be electrified. First of all we need Doubling of Lines which NDA is doing as the first priority.Let me tell you one thing and please accept this.
During 10 years of UPA reign we had seen only following things.
If the Rail Minister is of say from UP, UP will get more trains
compared to other states.
To Take revenge from opposition they never introduce new train or any new schemes to that state biggest example is Tamil Nadu,I am living here from 20 years and I have seen the disaster done by Railways during the years of their rule.
Don't you think Chennai to Bangalore and Bangalore to Mumbai deserves Doubling and Electrification why did they start doubling only in late 2013. What were they doing during 2004-2013.
Ahmadabad to Delhi via Jaipur should be doubled and electrified.
New Delhi to Guwahati should be doubled and electrified.
I think they are doing well as of now because we have lot of improvement to be done in Railways and yes they will develop it by 2024. Because Congress is no more coming again in 2019. Sorry to talk about politics but we should see Development of Railways

Sorry to nit-pick.... Chennai to Bengaluru has been doubled & electrified long time back.... Bengaluru to Mumbai sector is getting doubled & electrified. But that (doubling & electrification in any sector) alone does not help in trains maintaining punctuality. First & foremost stations should have enough platforms to accommodate trains. Many trains arriving SBC are late due to non-availability of Platforms. Small examples are Train # 12613 (Tippu Express) & Train # 16232 (Mayiladuthurai Express) between Mysore & Bengaluru. It reaches Bengaluru outer before time but arrives Bengaluru late due to non-availability of platform almost daily. Similar is the case for most of the trains.

First of all I did not mention about Chennai to Bangalore in my any of the statements. I only mentioned Mumbai-Bangalore,Chennai and Hyderabad. So for your knowledge trains coming from Mumbai to Chennai go via Guntakal and not Bangalore. What will you say about trains in UP section which get late by 5-7 hours. I say priority is to Double and Electrify Delhi-Guwahati which includes UP section which is neglected from years in Railway development during UPA rule when most of their railway ministers like Lallu from Bihar,Mamata Banerjee from WB, they thought only about adding trains but never thought of Facilities to Passengers, Amenities in trains and never ever thought of doubling lines in UP and Bihar. Doubling should be the first priority and Electrification next. Itarsi to Allahabad route will also get fully electrified by 2018. I know about electrification In Kerala,Tamil Nadu and Karnataka because I live in...
Tiruppur from past 20 years and it is electrified. For me the railways should electrify these routes
1.Mumbai-Delhi via Ahmedabad,Abu Road,Ajmer,Jaipur.
2 Delhi to Guwahati (all the routes )
3.Mumbai to Mysore via Bangalore
4.Chennai to Hyderabad.
5.Bangalore to Hyderabad (All routes)
6.Howrah to Guwahati.
7.All the existing routes which are under electrification process and all the routes for which tenders are out.
I think Electrification on main routes where premium trains like Shatabdi,Rajdhani,Duronto run should be electrified.
Konkan Railways is exception.
You should also know that Indian Railways have stopped the production of WAP 4 CLASS locos and only WAP 5,7 will be produced now. So there should be no argument on Diesel and Electric because all the departments of NDA government is working fine for electrification Indian Railway is seeking funds for more power supply from Piyush Goyal. Their plan is to electrify most of the Rail Routes. And that situation of delays would be solved by solving basic issues and yes it will happen soon.

With the CVR-MAQ electrification to be inspected today, which of these trains would you like to see being hauled by elocos to/from MAQ/MAJN in the near future? Not possible, RPM won't use it as a feeder loco. Mostly ED WAP 4 because they are roaming already in huge numbers in Kerala. If they think that it's too necessary there are chances or else no.

But if RPM WAP 7 engine depends on availabilty only. Mostly there is only 1/2 engine standing and they use it for passenger train to Mettupalayam or use it for Kovai Express or night train Nilgiri or Cheran.ED WAP 4 will be prefered for Intercity. Because when Intercity departs Cheran arrives with WAP 4/7 AND the loco change cannot happen immediately

Yes. RPM WAP7s dominate MAS-TVC/CBE trains but are not used in TVC-SRR side. Shatabdi is now regular with P7 especially 30426 and 30482.
Cheran gets P4 mostly. AJJ WAP1s are fewer in number. Its not that trains originating from MAS only will get WAP7. WAP7s can be easily used in TVC-MAQ section as they can return to MAS from TVC/MAQ itself with any of the trains you have listed. RPM WAP4s are also widely used in Kerala atleast till SRR. They too return back to RPM for maintenance. Same will be the case with WAP7s. However,We have to wait and see what SR is upto. Also availability and P7s are to be considered. Currently RPM has 53 WAP7s including
30528 and 30538. RPM will get more locos in the future. Not just RPM,RB has already issued circular stating that all ELSs must be equipped to handle 3 phase locos in the next 3 years as the production of conventional locos have been stopped.

If you notice there are still some trains from Chennai which use RPM WAP 7 towards other states and cities Duronto Express also uses RPM WAP 7 and many Locos be it WAP 4 or WAP 7 of RPM is used for trains towards Bangalore and you can see some Passenger train in Karnataka using WAP 7 of RPM. WAP 7 Will come to Kerala only when need arise. Once by May if Bangalore to Mysore route gets electrified then you will see Shatabdi from Chennai going with WAP 7 and as of Now Double Decker train uses WAP 7 plus Grand Trunk goes with WAP 7. As of now WAP 7 is a premium loco for RPM. RPM WAP 7 will not be used as the loco from TVC to MAQ and then change of loco. They will use WAP 4 keep in mind. WAP 7 is a premium loco...
and won't make a shift to any Kerala based Electric Loco Shed though WAP 4 of ED may shifted. Due to this more WAP 7 Will be produced in future and then you could see Rajdhani with WAP 7 but Konkan Should be electrified.Even now Rajdhani gets WAP 5/7 from BRC

अजमेर से उदयपुर का सफर होगा और आसान,रोजाना करीब 15 हजार से अधिक लोग करते हैं यात्रा
अजमेर. अजमेर रेल मंडल के अजमेर से उदयपुर के बीच रेलवे की ओर से डबल लाइन बिछाने का सर्वे किया जाएगा। सर्वे का कार्य नए वित्तीय वर्ष से प्रारंभ होगा। इस संबंध
में अजमेर रेल मंडल ने तैयारियां शुरू कर दी हैं। यदि यह लाइन रेलवे की ओर से डाल दी जाती है तो अजमेर-उदयपुर का सफर रेल यात्रियों के लिए और आसान तथा समय बचाने वाला हो जाएगा।
अजमेर और उदयपुर अजमेर रेल मंडल के मुख्य रेलवे स्टेशन हैं। अभी दोनों स्टेशनों के बीच ब्रॉडगेज की एक लाइन है। स्टेशनों से आने वाली ट्रेनों से रोजाना करीब 15 हजार यात्री सफर करते हैं या अजमेर से गुजरते हैं। जयपुर-उदयपुर इंटरसिटी इस मार्ग की मुख्य एवं सबसे पसंदीदा ट्रेन है।

रेल सूत्रों के मुताबिक नए वित्तीय वर्ष से सर्वे का कार्य प्रारंभ कर दिया जाएगा। सर्वे की रिपोर्ट तैयार होने के बाद रेल मुख्यालय की इस लाइन के लिए स्वीकृति दी जाएगी। अजमेर रेल मंडल का प्रयास रहेगा कि इस लाइन की स्वीकृति आने वाले वित्तीय वर्ष तक हो जाए, नहीं तो अगले वर्ष आने वाले बजट में इस लाइन को स्वीकृति मिलना संभव होगा।

विद्युतीकरण का कार्य भी है जारी
अजमेर रेल मंडल की ओर से अजमेर-उदयपुर के बीच विद्युतीकरण लाइन का कार्य भी चल रहा है। अजमेर से भीलवाड़ा तक यह कार्य लगभग पूरा होने की स्थिति में है। विद्युतीकरण का विस्तार उदयपुर तक किया जाएगा। यह कार्य दिसंबर 2018 में पूरा किए जाने का लक्ष्य है।

2 करोड़ से ज्यादा प्रति किमी का खर्चा
एक अनुमान के मुताबिक रेलवे लाइन डबलिंग में एक किमी लाइन में बिछाने में 2 करोड़ से अधिक की राशि खर्च होती है। अभी अजमेर रेल मंडल में मदार से पालनपुर के बीच डबलिंग का कार्य चल रहा है।

यात्रियों को यह मिलेगा फायदा
- अभी इस मार्ग पर आमने-सामने ट्रेनें होने पर किसी स्टेशन पर क्रॉसिंग करवाने के लिए एक ट्रेन को 15 से 20 मिनट तक खड़ा रहना पड़ता है, मगर डबल लाइन होने से ट्रेनें निर्बाध आमने-सामने के डबलिंग ट्रैक से गुजर सकेंगी।
- ट्रेनों की रफ्तार में इजाफा होगा, एक अनुमान के मुताबिक बढ़ी हुई रफ्तार के बाद अजमेर-उदयपुर के बीच करीब आधे घंटे की कमी आएगी। जबकि अभी पांच से साढ़े पांच घंटे अजमेर से उदयपुर के बीच लगते हैं।
- डबल लाइन बिछ जाने के बाद अजमेर-उदयपुर लाइन अपग्रेड होगी, नया सिंग्लिंग सिस्टम लगेगा।
- अजमेर-उदयपुर की दूरी : 294 किमी

अभी इस रफ्तार से चलती है ट्रेनें
- अजमेर से चित्तौड़गढ़ : 100 किमी प्रति घंटा तक
- चित्तौड़गढ़ से उदयपुर : 110 किमी प्रति घंटा तक

डबलिंग लाइन होने के बाद
- अजमेर से उदयपुर : 120 से 130 किमी प्रति घंटे तक

रेल मंत्रालय की ओर से अजमेर-उदयपुर के बीच डलबिंग कार्य का सर्वे सेंक्शन हुआ है। नए वित्तीय वर्ष से सर्वे प्रारंभ किया जाएगा। यह लाइन डबल हो जाने से ट्रेनों की रफ्तार बढ़ने के साथ-साथ यात्रियों को भी सुविधा मिलेगी।

The reason for Jaipur -Ajmer being not electrified is Single Line between Bandikui-Alwar which is now being doubled. Anyways The work is in full speed in Marwar-Ajmer section.

Here is a small effort from me on recapitulation of the events that happened in railway in the year 2016
1) Electrification of hw- ddn route and plying of train with elocos.
2) Electrification of gzb-mb-be-lko- gkp route.
3) Introduction of Mahamana exp. with model rakes.
Introduction of Gatimaan with a notching speed of 160 kmph
5) Introduction of much awaited gkp-anvt Humsafar exp.
6)Lhbfication of two heavy giants of NR and NCR ie 12229/30 and 12417/18. Many more sfs were also lhbfied.
7) Traction of 12554 changed from dloco to e-loco and many others followed.
8) Trials conduction of Talgo.
9) Introduction of modern Deen-Dayalu coaches

1) Full fare of child between age of 5-11 if berth is opted
2) Introduction of flexi fare system in premium trains
3) Eradication of service charge levied by IRCTC for online booking.
4) Option to opt for medical insurance @0.92p.

1) 5 February 2016 - 4 coaches of Kanyakumari-Bangalore City Express derailed near Vellore. Few injured.
2)1 May 2016 - Old Delhi-Faizabad Express derailed near Hapur. No casualities were reported
3)6 May 2016 - Side collision for the Chennai Central - Thiruvananthapuram Central superfast and a suburban train near Pattabiram. Seven Injured
4)19 May 2016 - Kanyakumari-Dibrugrah Vivek Express derailed near Nagercoil. No casualities were reported
5) 28 August 2016 - 12 coaches of Train number 16347 Thiruvananthapuram Central - Mangalore Central Express derailed near Karukutty Station, Angamali around 2:20 am. No casualties.
6)20 November 2016 - 14 coaches of the Indore-Rajendra Nagar Express 19321 derailed at Pukhrayan, approximately 60 kilometers from Kanpur. At least 150 deaths and 260 injuries have been reported in Pukhrayan train accident.
7)28 December 2016 - 15 coaches of the Ajmer-Sealdah Express derailed near the Rura railway station while crossing a bridge, resulting in 44 injured
One thing that did not change
1) Late running of trains. The previous year will also be remembered for trains making series of records in delays. Even the highly rated premium trains could not escape from the clutches of mammoth delay.

Electrification is sanctioned only till Charvattur i.e, Shoranur to Charvattur,but Electric Polls are completely installed till Mangalore Central and Mangalore Junction,only proper aligning of wires and some minor works were going on.Hope it could start by March End which is expected but by May it will get completed 100%

Even though, electrification has been completed till Charvattur in Kerala, not all trains runs with electric locos. Still the section is ruled by diesel locos, especially by EMDs.
Here in the video is, one such trains which has changed its link from Diesel to Electric. Train 56650/ Kannur - Coimbatore Fast Passenger crossing my train, Mangalore Mail, in between Ferok and Kallayi. WAP 4 from Arakkonam (AJJ) shed was doing the honour of taking this passenger train.

Last December,i.e December 2016 I visited to Ahmedabad via Coimbatore-Mangalore -Ahmedabad. I gave a complete report on electrification.If you missed it anyways I am giving brief info. Polls have been installed and wires attached only alignment and minor wrks are left.Polls and wires are completely installed till MAQ and MAJN. Spotted OHE van at Kumbla.Expect work to be completed by March or May

I clearly said that the line is being doubled and electrified from Delhi to Ahmedabad. Whereas some sections are there in Indian Railways which have not been Electrified and their tenders are also not out. This is what I meant to say.
