overtake I was waiting for ages! I never expected this to happen on this day. Things started early in the morning when the 12922 Flying Ranee which was running a few minutes late was held up on the loop line at Dahanu Road. There, it was overtaken by the 12954 AK Rajdhani. The Rajdhani has a non stop run till Borivali after that.
Meanwhile, the 12922 crawled out of Dahanu and arrived at Palghar where I got in. Had a great run till Borivali where I was surprised to see the Rajdhani standing on platform 6. Usually, the Rajdhani leaves BVI just as the Ranee creeps in from behind. Today however, the Rajdhani remained still.
Two minutes later, the Raj started moving and I thought we would be held up. But a few seconds after it started moving, the Ranee ALSO started moving. The parallel run I was expecting to see between these to trains for a long long time was finally becoming true!
Now, since the Raj is expected to reach BCT before the Ranee, I was expecting the Raj to overtake us again. But on this day, the section controller seemed to have different plans. Not only did the Ranee convincingly overtake the Rajdhani, she reached Andheri well before the latter and even left Andheri just as the Raj arrived and came to a halt.
I am hoping that she was not held up after than allowing the Rajdhani to enter BCT first! (Note: As it turns out, the Ranee was held up after Bandra and the Rajdhani overtook her again there!)
Enjoy this rare parallel action and overtake!! Looks like the deputy King wanted to impress the Ranee on Valentines Day and let her pass. :)

other ends.So we quickly opened up our bags to get our camera's to capture this one last shot of the day.
So,there it was Led by the GZB WAP-7#30252 the Legendary Superfast Train of Indian Railways ie. 12926 Paschim Express first approaches through the curve with terrific honking,then majestically negotiates through the curve and then lashes past us with full ferocity.
The 24 coach load of the mighty Paschim exp. appeared to be Child's play for the mighty White beast as it blasted through the curvature with ease.I was really amazed to see such Power Pack performance by the WAP-7,even though there was double caution ahead the LP's speedily past through us and just at the brink of the LC,they slowed down.
