Tree fall delays trains by more than 4 hours
Sakleshpur (Hassan dist): The rail traffic on Mangaluru-Yeshwantpur route was affected for more than four hours as a huge tree fell on the tracks between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road stretch, near Shiravagilu in the taluk on Monday.
According to sources, a huge tree got uprooted and fell on the tracks around 12 noon. The Bengaluru-Karwar passenger train that left Sakleshpur station at 12 noon to Subrahmanya Road had to be stopped at Shiravagilu station for four hours. As there was no canteen or other...
more... facilities at the station, the passengers had to face hardships. The Mangaluru-Yeshwantpur train that had to reach Sakleshpur at 1.15 pm was stopped at Subrahmanya Road.
Railway sources said the tree was removed and the rail traffic was cleared around 6 pm.
