Looks like a good Concept. But all stoppages for these trains are at A1/A category stations in which many trains stop. they should give stoppage at B category stations at least 2 in each division.

This train DIGHA-VSKP-DIGHA weekly exp is very useful to the passengers of srikakulam and its neighboring areas travelling to kharagpur, and beyond.Unfortunately this train 22873/22874 DIGHA -VSKP-DIGHA exp is not provided a halt at SRIKAKULAM ROAD station. It stops at PALASA in srikakulam district.so, passengers of srikakulam area have been facing a lot of trouble . The train runs on the same path of 22853/22854 SHM-VSKP-SHM weekly exp. The train should be run up to SHALIMAR instead of DIGHA . Halts are to be provided at SRIKAKULAM ROAD and BALUGAON stations.

Nov 02 2016 (18:18)   Arasavalli temple set to get much-needed facelift

Finally, the Endowments Department has initiated steps for the developmental activities in the historic Arasavalli temple by approving the master plan which was prepared a couple of years back.
The department, in association with the temple authorities, is expected to spend around Rs. 10 crore for the creation of facilities for the pilgrims.
The temple attracts almost three lakh people on the day of Ratha Saptami and around 20,000 devotees every Sunday to have darshan of Lord Suryanarayana Swamy.
gets an annual income of Rs. 4 crore and has more than Rs. 18 crore worth in fixed deposits. Though the finances of the temple looked bright, the Endowments Department failed to take up developmental activities all these years. The ills that plague the temple include congestion created by vendors or hawkers at the temple’s entrance and increased traffic movement through the temple’s vicinity into residential areas — both making it difficult for pilgrims visiting the temple, especially on Sundays. Utter chaos prevails on festival days such as on Ratha Saptami.
The district administration has proposed removing the shops on either side of the road leading up to the temple and widening the road up to 60 feet.
Recently, Endowments Department Principal Secretary J.S.V. Prasad visited Arasavalli temple and expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of the temple. He asked officials to begin road widening, creation of parking area, shifting of shops to identified place as part of the implementation of the master plan.
The works are likely to begin by the end of this year, according to higher officials. Road widening from Arasavalli arch to the main premises will be taken up very shortly.
A massive building, which is located in front of the main temple, is expected to be demolished so that the Sun’s rays fall directly into the premises of temple.
The implementation of master plan helps to construct more toilets, cloak rooms and accommodation facility. Indra Pushkarani will also get a makeover and it can be seen directly from the temple. The temple has no ‘Mada Veedhi’ as houses and commercial establishments had been built around the Sun temple.
Chief Priest of the temple Ippili Shankara Sarma told The Hindu that the temple would get all the facilities on a par with major ones such as Simhachalam Temple near Vishakapatnam, the Kanaka Durga Temple at Vijayawada and the Annavaram Temple of East Godavari district.

Coromandel touches CHE and VZM at odd time, that is why many people did not demand halt strongly for this. leave about JJKR even TDD has halt for Coro. many trains that stop at PSA does not stop at CHE. this is due to lesser income at CHE than PSA;more over CHE station is located in Amadalavalasa and not in Srikakulam. many ppl will prefer non-stop AC bus to VSKP which they can reach in 1:30 hrs.
one more funny thing is SC-Shalimar exp stops at PSA and SPT but not in CHE.

Nov 03 2016 (12:20)   Madras High Court Pulls Up Railways For Reducing General Coaches In Pandian Express

MADURAI:  Pulling up the Railway for scaling down unreserved coaches, including one for women, in a popular express train bound for Chennai while introducing LHB coaches, Madras High Court Bench in Madurai on Wednesday directed authorities to file a report on November 7 on the matter.
The court, hearing a PIL by an advocate, directed Railways to submit its view on attaching more general coaches in the Madurai-Chennai Pandian Express train.
Noting that ordinary passengers who cannot afford heavy bus fare were travelling in general compartments in trains and the railway service was
meant for poor people, the court sought to know what they would do if the general compartments were removed under the pretext of introducing new coaches.
The petitioner submitted that the train used to have 24 coaches. But from August 15 last, when the new modern LHB coaches, designed on German technology, were introduced, only 22 coaches were attached.
A women's coach and a general coach had been removed, which has affected the passengers travelling by general compartments, he said adding non-provision of women's coach was against railway rules.
Counsel who appeared for the Railway submitted that the LHB coaches were longer than the conventional coaches and only 22 coaches could be attached in proportion to the length of the platform.
If more coaches should be attached, the platform length should be extended, he said.
The court directed the railways to submit a report on the plea for attaching the two coaches.

it is very bad;where is Railways heading? infact this BJP govt told they will bring back the black money and distribute to people;
instead they are looting people..illegally they are increasing the fares in the name of dynamic fare..
Govts used to curb private operators greediness but now Govt has become greedy. Railway's want more people to travel or wanted to become richer?
i cancel a sleeper class ticket, they are looting 120 Rs in the name of clerical charge even though i cancel online.
Railways motto should be service and not commercial..who wanted pizza burger on board? who needs a bullet train worth lakhs of crores when normal express trains itself not sufficient and not punctual?
this govt is not moving in right direction, when the railway budget is merged with union budget, let the loss be carried by finance dept.in fact railways need not run in losses if there is a proper vigilance in ticket checking and stop running empty trains.
instead of adding more people under tax bracket,(almost 50% of the people who earn more than 5 lacs gets escaped)this govt found soft targets like railway travelers, salaried employees and petrol/diesel consumers.
