Thanks for reply.
The passengers are already on board and it indeed is side upper.
But the TTE they say is not very helpful. just says "Hoga seat to mile ga". Train has already traveled for 3 hours.still nothing?
Does TTE need a bribe or will he ask for it?

indeed they have every right to travel. Thats confirmed (i searched and confirmed that from many people and rules)
The issue is they are 2 and confirmed ticket is one. Further 2 are senior citizen and 1 of them is not very well. But still TTE hasn't entertained till now and as per 1 elderly, TTE doesnt appear that he will allot any cancellation or "passenger didnt come" berth to them. because either TTE doesn't want to ask for money (which i think is without any official receipt) or either he is got/getting money already from some other people (even though these passengers are on Wl1 and Wl2 and should be on priority).

i understand your point BUT wondering what happens to a group of adult age (25+yrs) old group who book say 10-20 tickets (dont know the limit) in one PNR and then 1 gets confirmed? 20 people adjusting on 1 sear would be a nuisance for others too. Adjusting is a very vague term by IR and LOGICALLY, either IR hould not allow such passengers i.e cancel the ticket like it does for fully W/L e-tickets and refund or make it mandatory for TTE to provide them seats as and when available in any coach. They can make sure to have a lower limit per PNR for W/L booking to make sure TTE's can help those small no of W/L passengers...

( For Normal Booking)6 passengers per PNR with 1 Confirmed ticket is also not a good sight. There is no way possible for 6 passengers to even sit properly on 1 berth, forget the sleeping part. That clearly means some passengers standing/causing congestion or encroaching upon others/roaming around !
Any way, my issue is not with some illogical rules (Some are destined to suffer them )
My issue is the allotment of seats by TTE , to partially confirmed ticket's WL'ed passengers esp. when they are senior citizens(75+)
