railfan23 144 blog postsSenior members, the current 'Accommodation Availability Enquiry' Status for Sleeper Class, for Train # 22646 Ahilyanagari Express on 3rd April, 2016, from Boarding Stn. Nagpur Jn. (NGP) and reservation up to Indore Jn. (INDB) is RLWL74. Please let me know the chances of a RLWL74 moving into RAC (if not getting confirmed). If the chances are bright, I shall go ahead and make a booking (i.e., I haven't made the booking/reservation yet). Thanks.

I haven't made the reservation/booking yet. If the chances of moving into either RAC (if not confirmation) are good (subject to opinion/advice from senior members/admins), then I shall go ahead and make the reservation/booking (so, there's no PNR to post right now).
I was fortunate to get a confirmed Tatkal ticket at last! It was touch and go, but could make it just in time (i.e., before the Tatkal quota ran out within 5 minutes after opening this morning at 11 AM)!

Dear Mahesh ji, I had only asked the senior members/admin for their opinion if a RLWL74 could get confirmed, or at least move into RAC (so that, if the chances for either moving into RAC or confirmation were bright, I would have gone ahead and made a booking (i.e., I hadn't yet made the booking/reservation when I posted on March 26th). Since I didn't get any advice until this morning, I went ahead and tested my luck with the Tatkal Quota, and was very fortunate to get one! All the 56 Tatkal tickets on offer were gone in under 5 minutes! Thanks for your reply, sir.

Let me clarify, sir... When I had posted my query on March 26, the RLWL74 referred to in the post implied the then current 'Accommodation Availability Enquiry' status at that point of time of posting my query. I hadn't booked any WL (i.e., RLWL) ticket in the first place. The RLWL was the 'Ticket Availabilty' status. So, as I wasn't sure about the probability of this RLWL getting confirmed (or, moving into RAC at least), I hadn't gone ahead and purchased the RLWL ticket. Had I booked this RLWL74 current status ticket, I'd have posted the query under the PNR category. On the day the Tatkal booking opened, I was fortunate enough to get the confirmed Tatkal e-ticket (with PNR No.: 4118530584) - the entire Tatkal Quota on that day was gone in under 5 minutes after the online booking opened at 11 AM. railfan23 144 blog postsThe ticket's current status is CNF/A2/8/NC for Train # 12474 Telangana Express (Boarding point: Bhopal Jn., and Reservation upto: Secunderabad Jn.) for scheduled departure @ 03:30 Hrs on 20th November. What is meant by 'NC' here? A few hours ago, the current status showed up as CNF/A2/8/UB; but this has since changed to CNF/A2/8/NC! This is some 4 hours before departure (# 12474 scheduled departure being @ 03:30 Hrs from Bhopal Jn.) on 20th November. Please advise. Thanks.

Thanks, Vinay. But, 'No Choice' in what sense or context?! For option/choice of berth? Does this mean a different berth had been allotted than what was requested (i.e., Lower Berth having been requested) at the time of booking? Even then, why did the status change from CNF/A2/8/UB to CNF/A2/8/NC (the berth number remains the same, i.e., berth #8. So, why change/replace the 'UB' with the 'NC'? In that case, it could have been mentioned earlier itself as CNF/A2/8/UB/NC. Why change it now?

AP Express (Train No. 12724) Tuesday's (July 28) departure from New Delhi was delayed from Gwalior onward, right until it finally reached Hyderabad (final destination) at 22:40 Hrs on Wednesday (29th July) - a delay of nearly 3 hours. Please let me know if there was any specific reason for this delay? Thanks.
We need to book 3 tickets (3 passengers) for 2AC on this train (Sabari Express) for HYB-ERN on 27th May. At present, as I write this, there's only one 2AC seat Available. This would mean the second and third passengers would be placed on RAC1 and RAC2 respectively. Given that the travel date (May) is peak tourist season (summer vacation), and that there is only one 2AC coach for this train, what are the chances of the RAC1 and RAC2 getting confirmed by the day of travel (i.e., 27th May). If the seniors/experts opine there are very good chances of the RAC1 and RAC2 getting confirmed, then I shall go ahead make the booking. Please advise.

@ViShAl, @gogoraksha and @SRG, thanks for your kind advice, sir. But would the peak summer vacation travel demand for train tickets not make it tough for any cancellations? I mean, who would cancel their confirmed tickets at all, unless there's an emergency, or change of travel plans/itinerary? Sincere apologies if I sound like questioning your advice, but I'm just plain anxious if the peak season travel rush wouldn't make it that much tougher for any cancellations! If there aren't any cancellations on that day in that lone 2A coach, we would still remain stranded/locked at RAC1 and RAC2! Please opine, sir. Regards.
