Sir, we need to understand the compulsion of Railway too. Railways can't take decisions of providing train just on the basis of profitability. It has social obligations too and balancing act also needs to be done otherwise people will say that Railway only focuses on any specific region.

I am not talking about profitability here. what i said was IR should consider running trains where there is demand and should consider passengers demand too when announcing trains.
How long can IR run or announce trains that runs empty during major part of the year?

Sir, Demand means profitability. And the answer to ur question is that this will happen until and unless Railway is a state owned enterprise and have political people serving are it's top brass.

A new study revealed that 21% of those who booked tickets for trains departing from Bengaluru City station (KSR station) did not get seats.
The study by RailYatri.in, a portal for train travellers, showed 10-12 lakh passengers across the country failed to travel daily due to non-confirmation of tickets -their waitlisted ones did not get confirmed. This translated to almost 13% of long distance travellers every day; during peak season, the number increased to 19%. The portal has been tracking booking patterns since January 2016 and analysed the plans of over 30 lakh travellers, searched for seats in 2,800 trains and 3,100 railway stations.

the Anand Vihar terminal in New Delhi, 43% of those who booked tickets did not get seats; the figure was 38% for Jammu Tawi in Jammu; 33% for Lokmanya Tilak in Mumbai and 28% for Howrah in Kolkata.

This is a good study.
Also they should have studied the journey sectors or the trains where most of the passengers wanted to travel, but couldnt because their tickets remained in WL.
I feel IR themselves should so such a survey consider the results before announcing new trains

Rather if they could gather these passengers then IR would be full of profits no more fear of loss. Extra coaches and introducing new train in demanded route is the only solution

Yes. Instead of running existing trains or announcing new trains where there is no passenger demand, IR should understand where is the demand and run/announce trains accordingly

Just IR- Unable just unable to fulfil fulfill the demand!! demand That even is Indian lucrative Railways ac at class national passengers! level has fallen down from 74%(1950) to below 15% today!!
That is why the passenger traffic share of Indian Railways at national level has fallen down from 74%(1950) to below 15% today!!
Instead One of more increasing fact capacity trying a to large extract number maximum of for passengers ac do class not paxs book the tickets at all after waiting list starts building up
So the number of passengers who wish to go for Rly journey, but do not go due to inability of IR to offer confirmed reservation, is much higher

Instead of increasing capacity and offer reservation on demand, carry more passengers and earn more, IR is increasing the number of ac coaches in trains, often by replacing second class coaches, and trying to extract maximum for ac class paxs thru flexifares
Airline No wonder, airline operators have earned annual revenues 1 of Rs
75 lac crores have surpassed IR revenue
67 75 crores!!! lac It crores should surpassing be the a annual revenue (Rs
1 With flexi fares the airlines are going to be merrier
67 crores)!!!
Instead of increasing capacity (volumes) and keeping a reasonable ac class fare, IR is increasing it thru Flexi/Suvidha/Tatkal ect
It is a historically proven fact that in marketing, the one operating on big volume with reasonable profit wins and the ones trying to profiteer are destined to doom in the long run
Today, airline operators who have lured these harassed passengers proved to be are better marketeers than IR
One thing IR does not realize is most of the passengers have not travelled/ not used to travel by air
Once they taste the blood of mall like airports & incomparably fast and high profile air travel, they may prefer to pay more than ac rail travel and new aviation policy has already made plans for their red carpet welcome
It should be a very disturbing fact for IR
With flexi fares in offing on large scale the airlines are going to be much merrier

Is the additional augmentation of two 3A coaches 12213/12214 and 16561/16562 really required?
I dont see much demand either for 12213/14 or 16561/62 to justify the additional augmentation.

Instead the same 3ac is required to be replaced with Hubli Delhi link.... They must seriously remove 2ac and place 3ac at UBL portion...
Bangalore Durango is running with just 60 percent occupancy and they have again added 2 coaches... Looks officials didn't do right

Whether the trains started running at the running right time
Planning to travel in the Island Express (16525) from TVLA to TCR. Ticket already reserved.
Whether the trains started running at the right time. For the last 2 to 3 days the train was running 3 to 4 hours delayed (as per the arrival/departure history). Tried to reach the railway station many times - no luck.
139 says all trains are running right time.
