Most of this stops are not necessary.. I still remeber, there were days when New Delhi Kerala Express used to reach PGT between 6 and 6.15PM. Kerala used to show her power after she leaves TCR. But now with OTP, that show is being missed.

Is there any restriction on number of tickets that can be booked through online mode for any train. For example if there are 64 seats available for a particular class from a station, is there a limit fixed by railways that x % can be given through online mode and y% through paper tickets (across the counter).
If there is no such restriction then isnt it quite advantageous for online passengers since if they have high speed connectivity there is every chance they can get all the tickets whereas many passengers who may not know much about internet booking, lack of internet awareness etc who wait at the counters (sometimes from previous night) may not get tickets.

Any number of tickets can be booked online or through PRS
There is no limit for the number of tickets that can be booked through PRS or online.
Yes, with the up gradation of IRCTC's internet booking interface, the passengers booking from PRS are at a disadvantage now.

SR on the other hand, detains this train for every trains that comes on its way or even behind it (JS) (12082) or selects this train to provide stoppages at all the stations en route
Felt sad that a train who has been serving IR for over 50 years, the legendary Island Express, is never given its due, be it by SR or SWR. Though SWR has provided some new SL coaches, it is never given priority that it deserves, be in allotting priority timings or platforms. SR on the other hand, detains this train for every trains that comes on its way or even behind it (like 12082) or selects this train to provide stoppages at all the stations en route

yaa, this train must be taken care like SWR's other prides i.e Rani chennama--- they must scrap off atleast 18 stops in kerala, just look at TT, out of 46 halts, 33 halts belong to kerala, whats the use of catering each and every home in kerala-that too by such a reputed express.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dakshina Kannada MP, has urged Minister for Railways D.V. Sadananda Gowda attend to the long-pending demands of coastal Karnataka.
In his discussion on the Railway Budget, a written copy of which was tabled on the Lok Sabha recently,
...

Mr. Kateel said Mangalore Central Railway Station should be developed to world-class standards. The existing tri-weekly day train between Karwar and Yeshwantpur should be made a daily train while a new train should be introduced between Mangalore and Vasco da Gama, he demanded.
While the existing passenger train between Mangalore and Subrahmanya Road be converted into a DEMU, the Madgaon-Mangalore DEMU and Intercity Express trains should be extended till Subrahmanya Road, the MP demanded. He said the weekly Mangalore Central-Kacheguda (Hyderabad) Express should be run via Hassan, Arsikere and Guntakal instead of the present circuitous route via Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The Ministry should take steps to double the Mangalore-Mumbai Railway line to boost economic activities in the region and doubling work between Mangalore Junction and Thokur should be speeded up, he said. The Ministry should also construct two additional platforms at Mangalore Central Station, which has become saturated.
Replying to an unstarred question by Mr. Kateel, Mysore MP Pratap Simha and Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha Member D.K. Suresh, Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha said the Ministry had allocated Rs. 42.36 crore for doubling the line between Mangalore Junction and Panambur (New Mangalore Port) for 2014-15.
He said out of the estimated cost of Rs. 149.09 crore, Rs. 20.67 crore had been spent on formation of track bed, bridges and tunnelling work. Work on electrification of line between Shoranur-Mangalore-Panambur at a cost of Rs. 371.52 crore was going on and Rs. 202.14 crore had been spent. The Ministry allocated Rs. 60 crore for the work during 2014-15, Mr. Sinha said.

There is no politics by SR in this. SCR had introduced this train to cater to the passengers between Kerala and Hyderabad, going by the demand Sabari Express have. But it is yet to pick up the patronage due to its inconvenient timings in Kerala.
