This train is a very huge demanded train from Odisha.
I am giving tip for Sleeper classes.
After boarding from BBS , go to Upper berth (in case having Lower berth seat , exchange with someone just for some time) and go to sleep. Telling you do this or else your whole "happy morning" will turn into a "Bad morning".
From BBS to VZM

, specially between KUR to CHE , this train runs as a Intercity train. SL classes are packed with daily travellers and waiting holders. Beggars will give you a headache and transgenders will suck up your money. (They are very shameless)
But once train reached VSKP , It all becomes COMPLETELY empty. Seriously i was shocked to see the complete empty and cleaned SL coach after i woke up. All thanks to Ratnachal express which takes away all the intercity day travellers.
After this the whole journey from VSKP to SBC is a awesome one with full of heavy crossings and views of Mighty Godavari and Krishna rivers.
After VSKP , the next cleaning is done at BZA station and after that from BZA to SBC , it runs as it is , but still the coach condition of these ECoR is quite good.
I would suggest the VSKP folks who wish to travel to Bangalore, Take this train.
Because it is the only Non-VSKP starting train to bangalore who have General quota for VSKP to SBC also. So BBS & VSKP both share same quotas.
Best chances of getting confirm seats if you book well 1 week ahead of time in SL. AC coaches are very badly demanded for this train.
For VSKP to SBC , you can easily opt SL class (unless its not some Festive season like Pongal or Diwali). Best thing is Food.
The pantry is quite good and warm-good quality food is provided.

Go for VSKP-SHM Weekly SF.
Prashanti is very popular train here and acts as an evening time intercity for regular passengers.
Whereas VSKP-SHM Weekly is a less popular and weekly train in which tickets are also easily available.

Right now 13 seats are avl in SL class current booking and 2 seats in 3rd AC and 7 seats in 2nd AC for tomorrow's departure. So chances are there same may be possible for monday departure also.
If its possible, ask at home or friend or someone to book for you.

Yesterday thought that will board this train's General or Sleeper compartment with a General ticket from Vizianagram to Balasore. I am again saying, I "Thought" to board.
Train arrived exact on time at VZM platform 4.
General coaches were already filled up and people were hanging on Doors already. Toilets were also full of people with No windows. Passengers had broken the window so that toilets could be used as a window seat. :P

the 13 Sleeper coaches, each and every coach was full it people upto brim. Doors were jammed and even if you have your confirm ticket, you will have to spend huge amount of energy and time to reach your seat.
AC coaches were also having WL or regular passengers seating near Attendant's bed. But inside their were no unauthorized entries.
If you are travelling with family or ladies or even alone, Try to avoid the SL coaches and GS coaches.
After hearing about coach conditions, you can imagine what will the Cleanliness and maintenance condition of this train.

ERS Antodyaya Runs averagely filled.
Its not lack of trains, Its about no knowledge for option trains.
Generally these crowd are those people who are lesser literate or illiterate. Thus they know about well renowned trains for a specific routes, unlike us who search for trains on Internet.
Example: People who are of lower class or illiterate will say the name of Coromandal Express

or Chennai Mail if asked to travel from Kolkata to Chennai, even if there's a less renowned weekly or special train running on exact same route.
Only solution is running clone trains of well renowned and crowded trains.

I had to travel from Kharagpur To Balasore after alighting from LTT HWH Jnaneswari Superfast Express.
I knew this train General coach condition.
When this train arrived at Platform 1 of KGP, the First GS coach from Loco was completely Jam Packed.
But the GS coach was hardly 50-60% filled up. When i queried about it, i got answer that its MILITARY

Coach.
This i didnt knew about this.
This Military GS coach at the Front side near the Loco (3rd Bogie after SLR and GS , just before the S1).
It was brand new 2015 made and has charging sockets near every seat.
PS: Military personals and Dependents, kindly do keep this tip in mind for this train.

While departing from Howrah , the rear end SLR is always a Military personal bogie. No civilian is allowed to board this SLR. Door is always closed from inside and you have to tell at window that "I am a defence personal.Open it" Then only they open the door or else they will ask you to board the adjacent General compartment.
This tip will be very beneficial for Defence personals/Ex-defence personals and their wards who don't wish to travel in the ridiculous crowd of General compartments.
PS: There may be a chance that

the Military SLR may be in the ahead or rear portion, but it will be definitely present either at rear side or front side. So please before boarding do check the proper position. During my last journey from Howrah , it was at rear end.

For those who wish save money:
If you want to travel from Coastal Odisha to Howrah for sunday arrivals , and unable to get confirm ticket (or wish to save some money like me) , then just take a unreserved ticket for Howrah and board this train (on saturday night departure from puri). Go to general bogie and alas you will feel as if you are inside a reserved bogie. The coaches are completely empty (whereas shri jagannath express general coaches crowd is very famed). Just board your coach and choose whichever seat you want and go to sleep calmly. Nobody will disturb you as hardly anybody boards. All the crowds are swept away by Shri jagannath express.
After

a good night's sleep, wake up at 6 am and you will find yourself near Hijli. Pack up and alight the train at KGP. Then board any local (Lots of local are present and your same unreserved ticket till HWH will work) bound to HWH. Preferable wait for the Meedinipur Howrah Local and by 9-9.30 am you will be at HWH. So for total journey taken from Puri to HWH, then you will cover it in exactly in 9hr which is much lesser the time taken by Shri jagannath express (which takes 9hrs 40min). Plus nearly Rs 135 saving without any compromise for leisure.
PS: This trick only works for saturday night (this train) and friday night (VSKP Digha SF runs on Fridays on same slot). And this will not work for any other day. So before planning anything, kindly check out your date & day of journey.
