One of the worst Train to SC. I am surprised how late it can reach SC. Filthiest train ever. Caterers were asking tip for lot many things. This train should be called as Duronto Passenger. One of the worst train in SCR.

Yes pantry guys used to take money but at end of journey nly they ask for tips and upon request they used to provide extra food also.

Posting again as i posted the previous msg in trn trip.
Travelling from nzm to sc: Live blogging :).
Train left 3-4 mins late. AC in 2A was not functioning properly but once the train started moving fast then it got better. I wonder if there is a generator car in this train and is that the reason for it. Or might be due to Delhi's heat and to add to it, the door was opening/closing quite regularly.

snacks immediately we left nzm. The frooti was warm :(, the water was warm, tea/coffee was pre-made and no flasks were given for it, mithai was nice, the sandwich lacked mayonnaise :).
Crossed mathura on time. Reached agra around 10-15 mins late. Crossed agra and after travelling for half an hour, the train is not stationary for around 30-40 mins. Wonder what might be the cause. Also, the train stopped at agra on a mid line.
Will try to post as we go :).
the train stopped right before a river, i guess the chambal. And later it raced on.
Now again, we are just at trotting speed...after crossing rairu.

So with all these earlier RTI of Gulbarga, Wadi, Shahbad stations was 375 crores in 2013-14...
Gulbarga Division's total revenue may be between 1500-2000 crores in 2014-15 for sure (as it includes Bijapur, Bagalkot, Yadgir, Raichur districts also for which data yet to be collected)

UBL also should be having good freight revenue, UBL has Iron ore mines near Hospet, Tornagallu, Ballary. Also they have Vasco Port.
So I dont think UBL will have too less revenue, but they may not have good Passenger revenues.

major project which is lingering since 2003 due to the scanty allocation of funds is the Kalaburagi-Bidar rail line.
The foundation stone for the line was laid in 1999 by Bangaru Lakshman. Work began in 2000 and it was expected to be completed in 2005. Ten years later, around 40 per cent of the work on the 104-km line is yet to be completed. The project cost, estimated at Rs 4 crore per km initially, has doubled.
Officials maintain that hard rock and undulating landscape delayed construction of a bridge across the Bennethora stream and a 1.5-km long tunnel that passes below the mountain at Margutti.
A railway official said there was need for funds to lay the remaining stretch of rail line between Kalaburagi and Hallikhed- K.
The line will not only serve the two cities in north East Karnataka, but also act as a connecting point for the northern and southern stretches of railway lines. It will also be the second line to link Eastern and Western Railway, apart from the Mumbai-Secunderabad line. If properly utilised, the line will reduce the travel time between south India and Delhi by around 400 km and cut the travel time by around eight hours, says Khaji Arshed Ali, former MLC.
When M. Mallikarjun Kharge was the Railway Minister, he persuaded the Railway Board to accede to the demand for a new railway division and attach it to South Western Railway. The work on constructing facilities for the division has been handed over to Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. All that is required now is the nod from the Railway Ministry and board and funds.
Another important project is the construction of a pit-line in Khanapur near Bidar that will turn it into a junction. It will have a servicing centre for railway bogies, enabling the railways to start trains from here. Apart from strengthening railway infrastructure, it will lead to the expansion and development of the city.
Work on the pit line is on, and officials say it will be complete before May.
“We also demand that new lines be laid between Bidar and Vikharabad, Latur-Bidar and Nizamabad,” says B.G. Shetkar, president of the Bidar Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Increasing the frequency of trains between Bidar and Hyderabad, and Bengaluru and Mumbai, were other demands, he said.
Bhagwant Khuba, MP, says he has requested Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to start a new train between Tirupati and Shirdi.

Divisional Railway Manager, John Thomas, told a District level vigilance and in-charge committee review meeting of the centrally assisted programmes chaired by former Railway Minister and Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, M. Mallikarjun Kharge in Kalaburagi on Wednesday, that once the railway board gives its green signal the construction work would begin.
The Jurisdiction of the proposed new railway division at Kalaburagi coming under the South Western Railways has also been finalised, Mr. Thomas said. Mr. Kharge who sought the details of various railway works taken up in Kalaburagi said that the proposal was mooted by the then Railway Board member and the new Chairman of the Railway Board, A.B. Mittal and hoped that he would clear the proposal at the earliest.
He said that he had already spoken to Mr. Mittal after he took over the charge as the new chairman and raised the issue of ongoing railway projects and pending railway projects in Karnataka in general and Kalaburagi in particular. “Mr Mittal has assured that he would look into all these issues”.
The Railway Department officials said that the State government should release Rs. 132 Crore due to the railways as share of the State government for the Kalaburagi-Bidar Railway line project to speed up the work. Railways, out of its share of Rs. 422 crore has already spent Rs. 404 crore. Of the State’s share so far, only Rs. 290 crore has been released.
The Bidar-Kalaburagi Railway line is expected to be completed by December 2016. They also said that the work on the proposed Railway Over Bridges in Kalaburagi would be executed as scheduled and the pit-lines in Kalaburagi and Bidar railway stations would also completed as scheduled.
The Railway officials present in the meeting said that the tenders for the construction of the Railway Bogie Construction factory at Kadechur in the outskirts of Yadgir would be opened on January 12 and after finalising the tenders, the work orders would be issued within two months. The construction of the coach factory would be completed by December 2016. The estimated cost of the factory was Rs. 90.91 crore and the tender for Rs. 69 crores has been floated now.
Deputy Commissioner, Vipul Bansal said that 6-acre additional land sought by the railways for doubling work at Gangapur railway station would be given to the railways at the earliest and also meet the sand requirements of the railway projects without any delay. The KUWSDB Executive Engineer Ashok B Madyal agreed to provide 2 lakh litres of water every day to Kalaburagi Railway Station to meet the demand at the two pit-lines as and when the railways gave the proposal.
