If you are a Nature lover > The ~1 hour section between Yelahanka (YNK) and Gauribidanur (GBD) is very beautiful, where the train pass through vast plains, curving through several hills. Get a window seat to your right (YNK > GBD) to enjoy the view.

RAC allocation (General quota GNWL, HWH to YPR) in Sleeper class is 168.
That means, for example, if you have a Waitlisted ticket GNWL 70, here is how it works:
WL 70,69,68....3,2,1, RAC 168, RAC 167 ... RAC 2, RAC1, CNF, CNF

GENTLEMEN PLS DONT USE THIS TRAIN AT ALL.... it is better to use passenger train... WORST service and Railways is looting people. It has always been late and today it has been height of stupidity. train is lying at Vishakhapatnam for 3 hrs and it has been delayed by 5hrs. PLS pass this message to everybody if somebody can..... NO AC, BAD FOOD, coaches are worst. Looks like they have removed one coach from each train and joined it together... First day(16th April 2014) when it started its journey from BBSR it was delayed for 12hrs and reached yeswantpur 2hrs delayed...WOW what a service.

This is quite a punctual train. Traveled twice from BNC to VSKP ... both the times, it reached Visakhapatnam 10 mins before time.

Print out is COMPULSORY if you availed the pay online option for the bedding. SMS wont work with the attendants. Show your printouts/screen shots to the attendant before you settle in at the storage area near the toilets else you risk them running out of stock.

all garibrath attendants are supposed to have the charts with them right ? why's the printout necessary ? i am a frequent traveler on vskp garibrath ... just SMS is fine ...
otherwise whats the whole point in SMS (reduce the paper & tree cuttings for a greener india)

Exactly! The purpose of SMS facility itself is defeated. Its not just this train that I found this out, The SC YPR express too has this problem. They didn't seem to have charts in their possession.

Travelling by this train'll let you explore the heart & diversity of Odisha,
In order to travel by this train
1. Book your ticket at least before 3 days.
2. It's advisable to travel by AC Chair car which is very comfortable.
3.
...
If you want to travel by Non-AC chair car, I'm telling you, it's comfortable but be aware of Hijras, they're a great problem in this train.
Speed/ Punctuality
This train travels at an average speed of 85-110 km/hr.
If there's no other prestigious/important/long distance train on track during the run on ANGL-SBP single track this train remains punctual & isn't held any where as it';s a super fast otherwise it's held at passenger halts.
* Usual delay - 30-45 mins.
Cleanliness
Unlike other ECoR trains like Jan Shatabdi, this one is maintained well and remains clean.
Toilets are good and clean with basic facilities.
Food
Pantry car not available,
This is not a long distance train, you can buy food from vendors hanging around the train with fast food.

This entire route runs through the lush agricultural fields & villages of the famous "East Godavari" district. I found birds of many species on this journey, so if you are a bird lover, its a feast for you. (i even spotted 2 big fox crossing the tracks before the railbus).
Interesting facts:
Max speed of this rail car is 40 Kmph
It
...
also has a "mobile gateman" on-board (At the road crossings, he gets off the railbus & closes the gate manually!).
Tickets are also issued on-board. (Pls note that this railbus does not run on Tuesdays)
The end-to-end ticket from Kakinada to Kotipalli is a whopping 10 Rupees !
Closest 'main' railway station to access this route: Samalkot Jn (on Vijayawada - Visakhapatnam main line)
Town bus station along this route: Ramachandrapuram
Place of interest close-by: Yanam (The river Godavari ends its long journey from Nashik & joins the Sea here - Bhairavapalem)

Yes.. this railbus starts at CCT - Kakinada Town station (about 15 Kms away from Samalkot Jn) from Platform 1.
Just ask the people on the platform & they will show the place where it usually starts on PF 1.
