My colleague purchased the said ticket from Gudur to Howra and vise versa but lost in enroute to the office from the counter (both the tickets were missed ) one between has pnr no as 432-9861791
In the counter they collected Rs 20 and replaced duplicate ticket for the confirmed one. However though the said PNR was blocked, they assured to release the ticket if confirmed on collection of 50% else total amount will be forfeited.
Now the PNR status displays could not fetch. Kindly clarify

Your description of the said incident is all jumbled up. What I could fetch from the above description is that:
1) Duplicate ticket was issued against Rs. 20 (Clerkage charges) for the already confirmed ticket. (Before chart preparation)
2) The second ticket is in Waitlist, and as per the rules, Duplicate ticket is not issued for Waitlisted ticket.
If

this ticket somehow gets confirmed before chart preparation, follow the same steps as for the first ticket.
Else, if the ticket gets confirmed after chart preparation, as per rules you would have to pay 50% of the basic fare as levied in the 2nd ticket to obtain the duplicate ticket.

PNR is blocked for the 2nd ticket, so that no one can misuse the said ticket.
Since it is still in WL, no duplicate ticket is issued for the same.

Correct Sir!,
The problem with the blogger is that he is not able to verify improvement of the PNR and hence will not be able to come to know about confirmation.

He would now have two options to avoid the 50% payment of the basic fare on the 2nd ticket:
1) Tatkal (Would be economical for long distance journey in AC Coaches compared to the 50% payment)
2) Purchase a WL Ticket and apply for EQ Confirmation.
The

only problem is, if somehow his earlier ticket gets confirmed, he needs to avail the same again with 50% payment. Besides if he opts to cancel it after the scheduled time, he would again loose out on 50% of the basic fare due to TDR (However, if he wishes to do it within the time limit he would loose out a maximum amount upto Rs. 90)
The above blogger needs to sit down and calculate the option which he feels should be the best for him and also economically viable.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
