Kovai Express departing after Shatabti from Coimbatore is welcomed but the starting time further delayed by 15 minutes (15:20), completely disappointed. Instead of starting both the trains after 3 pm – start Shatabti at 14.30 pm and Kovai Express 14.45 pm. This would result Shatabti reaching MAS between 21.30 pm to 22.00 pm and Kovai express between 22.15 pm to 22.30 pm on most of the days. This would help the passengers who need to travel beyond Tambaram as the last EMU from Chennai Park station is at 22:52. With the new timing its reaching Chennai at 23.00 PM most of the days, making difficult for the people who live in outskirts of Chennai City. Either the timing of Kovai Express should be changed or the EMU.

Instead of running as Jan Shatabdi Express, this train can be changed into a Superfast Express with unreserved coaches in addition to existing second sitting (10 coaches) and chair car (2 coaches). As there are no other express trains starting in the morning from Coimbatore Junction to Trichy, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam and Mayiladuturai, this would help for all the passengers especially those who travel in unreserved coach. Like the name Ganga Kaveri Express – This train can be named as Siruvani Kaveri Express. Also, personally I felt normal second sitting coaches have good air circulation when compared to Jan Shatabdi second sitting coaches.
