I agree with this point. Trains like Bundelkhand express and barauni mail actually originated from Jhansi. These were extended to gwalior, and still the majority patronage of theses trains is from Jhansi and not gwalior. I don't think therewas a huge ruckus created in jhansi for extensionof these trains but people in gwalior did overreact to taj and indb ice extensions. (It took years for us to get the train to Indore even though the extension was approved when shri pradeep jain the then MP of jhansi was a minister.
It Agree that jhansi is small when compared to gwalior, but then it's not a village, and is also the gateway to Bundelkhand. It has already been experiencing a stepmotherly treatment from...
more... UP, since the bundelkhand region hardly contributes 22seats in a 400+ assembly. There was a time when the population here was more than ddn and udz but we couldn't attract tourists because of the lack of enthusiasm from the gov. And also due to an unven partition we lost the beautiful town to orchha to MP.
Jhansi is actually more closely associated with MP Than other cities in UP.
As far as the gwl jhs rivalry is concerned it goes a long way since 1857.
But blaming everything on Jhansi isn't fair at all.
