It would be good if the train leaves CST at 19:00 PM and arrive BBS at third day morning 04:30 AM and return leave BBS at 17:00 PM and arrive in Mumbai at morning 04:00 AM - In that case it will be a two night 1 day train and better connectivity rather than reaching BBS at 23:00 (midnight)

Even if people of BBS compare this train with Rajdhani, then also there is a difference of 10 hrs. People of delhi are not interested to go banaras with this train. Instead, overnight gangs are preferred. And even people of puri/bbs have more better option to go for delhi than this train. Even though now a days, this train punctuality is good, but almost 10 yrs back, this train broke records of delays. Max to max this train ran 48 hrs late.
Most of the Delhi people takes this train for LKO to BSB section.. other people from Gaya, Bksc, Tata and BBS who don't get ticket for their destinations takes ticket in this train.. This train is beneficial for LKO to BSB people for Gaya , BKSC, Tata and BBS.. Very less people from ANVT takes ticket for Gaya , Bksc , Tata and BBS.. People prefer Nandan Kanan than this..
Yes you are right. And due to these reasons, even though this train doesn't have that much crowd from delhi side, but from Lucknow, it gets fully packed and crowded. Even people who come from any train to LKO, but in return journey, 12876 is only preferred due to timing. Earlier this was the fastest train, before intro of 12801. But IR should understand proper requirement of seat and allocate in that way.
Speed of this train is good but stoppage is too much if you compare with Nandan Kanan between Puri - Hijli, Gaya - DDU and CNB - ANVT. Neelachal really does not qualify for SF category but still this is good train for BBS, Tata and BKSC people to reach upto LKO. Earlier this train was 18475/6 and Nandan Kanan from staring 12815/6.
Yes, earlier Train no. was 8475 and used to go via bsb-pryj (gyanpur line) and not via lko
