The most practical logistics/ transportation system should be one where rail as well as road both sectors thrive.
RORO and Road-Railer are two options where end to end solution is given to customer, involving rail as well as road movement without any transshipment.
RORO has been implemented by KR since about a decade and IR is holding the Kirloskar proposal for operating Road-Railer for about a decade.

concepts need to be implemented in a big way, in order to bring new freight into the basket of IR, and at the same time benefiting road operators as well!
Saturation of IR tracks are the main obstacle in this respect.
Completion of DFCs shall give a big opportunity for both of these novel modes of transportation to be implemented in a big way.

With the falling occupancy in major routes, I think its better they start with this concept, to increase its financial status....
And hoping if it succeeds, then IR should revert back the flexi-fare concept and suvidha concept fully ....
