*Funds (18000 crore Rs.) have to be tied up, spent and work have to be completed for 160kmph trains to be a reality. These activities should take atleast 5 years.
* IR is late in sanctioning the upgradation project, which should have been done 2-3 years before. This would have ensured concurrent commissioning of the DFCs and the upgradation of existing NDLS-BCT/HWH tracks. So that, as soon as freight trains switch over to DFC, the conventional route shall be ready to take on the 160kmph trains.

more... for 1483 kms long NDLS-BCT incl BRC-ADI and Rs. 6974 crores only for 1524 kms long NDLS-HWH incl CNB-LKO route is surprising. Does it mean that only NDLS-Sonnagar & CNB-LKO part of NDLS-HWH where DFC is under construction, shall be upgraded ?
