But additional service tax should not be levied, earlier there were no service tax, moreover insurance was given to attract.
No doubt internet bookings increased but should have been promoted more to reach to mass.
Still booking centers have lines, people filling forms, shows it has not reached to bulk.

That i do agree for coupons, IRCTC should really think about promoting online tickets. They are doing nothing, and those taxes uff, though they are payable, but unavoidable, which they could be, in starting phase where you can reach mass, they are restricting themselves.
They really should also develop their own payment gateways too. Rather than throwing it to other gateways, as you mentioned.

getting tatkal ticket online still a nightmare for many. despite of ircts claim of improvement of capacities of servers. i have suggestions for railway that prs booking for tatkal to be stopped completely as it creates much pain for passengers to get the token in first come first serve basis. examples of whole night waiting and to overcome touts is very common phenomenon for general passengers. I suggest to change of tatkal booking timing for each train to be changed to 24hours before of the schedule departure time from originating station for that particular train. so that server load will be distributed accordingly . hope this idea will be helpful for passengers to solve getting tatkal tickets

irctc made its booking portal thrown for commercial advertisement . Designed so no space left on web page making portal slower and irritable to surf. irctc should stop selling the slots for advertisers and to think more about user friendly too
