विसाखपट्नम Visakhapatnam (VSKP): Route rationalisation introduced by Railway Board through its notification on April 1, in 2011 has turned out to be a big bane for export and import cargo operators from Visakhapatnam.
Appeals by several operators to see reason in their demand to end circuitous route to reduce handling cost as well as time for dispatch of various commodities have so far not yielded any results. Incidentally, the policy might have filled the coffers of the Railways but led to growing preference to alternate ports like Krishnapatnam and Paradeep by the port users.
Sources told The Hindu that all cargo from Visakhapatnam including all marshalling yards Vadlapudi, Jagayyapalem, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam and Gangavaram Ports are forced to transport via Duvvada-Balharshah route instead of Titlagarh-Raipur, which is closer by 300 km.

Daily many people travel from RGDA to PVPT,VBL, VZM & VSKP. The present Passengers are not enough as they r coming from R, DURG, KRPU. They should be fast moving DMUs between RGDA & VSKP for every 2 hrs.
RGDA should be connected with VSKP by MEMUs every 4 hrs.

Filed an rti to find out the number of seats booked from VSKP to NDLS/NZM in all 3 trains.

Total number of bookings =8321+646+113+7495+844+13129 = 30548.
Total number of days = 365-31(excepting december) = 334.
No of bookings per day = 30548/334 = 91.46
From VSKP originating trains not only VSKP station alone getting benefit. I think we have to calculate DVD, tuni, SLO also.

Look, we missed out or rather that the data is given only for VSKP / AKP/SCM to NDLS or NZM
For Dakshin and SJ, even AGC and other stations come under Gnwl
For Samata, RGDA, Singapuram Road also fall under gnwl.
So, the data which was given is arguably correct as tickets are booked to AGC, Mathura Etc places general quota is enjoyed.

Many people from Mumbai travel to MSMD, KRAR, KBJ, TIG, KSNG, MNGD, RGDA, PVP, VBL, VZM & VSKP and there is one train ie., Train # 22848 LTT-VSKP SF EXP. It can't be made daily because in the same path Train# 12811 LTT - HTE SF EXP, Train # 12879 LTT - BBS SF EXP, TRAIN # 22865 LTT - PURI EXP are there. Since BBS & PURI are having another train ie., TRAIN # 12145 so it will be better if this train was made daily and leave slots of Train # 22865 & 12879 to VSKP. It will be better if the timings of Train # 12811 is changed for the convenience of people of HTE.
The following lines should be made Doubling & Electrified by giving funds in the coming Budget or Centre and State cost sharing basis.
i) WADI - PUNE (Helps in reducing time between LTT, ADI & SC)
ii) CT - GTL
iii) FM - GY - BYPL (Helps in reducing the bus traffic between Hyderabad & Bangalore)
iv) SC - MUE - NSL (Helps in reducing the bus traffic between Hyderabad & but also provides alternative route to JAT, CDG, ASR)
v) MUE - ADB - MJRI (Helps an alternative route to HWH & NDLS)
Unless SC - GNT and DHNE - GNT are doubled and electrified GNT continues to play second fiddle to BZA
