After electrification of MB - BSB section, its quite logical dat at least Rajdhani class train should have been provided with an e-loco. Also, even without d loco change at BSB, Rajdhani must b consuming 15 mins for stoppage in reality.

TRIP REPORT I travelled from KGP-HWH-LKO on 01-07-2016. PART 1 Train:Ispat Exp. Took out for the train an hour before departure. Towards the station, saw a freight train pulled by 3 WAG-7![guess 1 was one non-functioning]. Saw the PurI Shatabdi coming, occupancy was low. Aranyak Exp[this caused my train to become furthur late]. At last, Ispat arrived with a delay of 1 hour[Link-> WAP 4]. The train moved briskly skipping stations at mps[though was slow at some places] with the best being reserved for Howrah suburbs. Rolled into HWH at 2000 hrs. PART 2 At the HWH station, had a quick bite at the Pizza Hut and took a stroll at the station campus. Saw the Black Diamond Exp and P-7 bound RNC Shatabdi coming at the station. Other sightings included the crawler Bagh Exp, HWH-Porbander and HWH-JU Exp.Also saw the Upper Class Waiting Room at HWH[kinda underexpected, they had ACs and charging ports but seating wasn't upto the mark]. Himgiri came at 2330 hrs at the platform. PART 3 In the train. I had an Upper Berth[2A].The coach was 2011 made, looked good; though the '15-16 made coaches are even better[Neelachal had those, they had soft lighting and wooden panels]. The lower berth was empty, so made the camp there.Train was moving at good speeds until Bardhaman which was skipped slowly. Woke the next day, saw Kiul and Luckeesarai go by[delay ~ 1hr]. Had an overpriced breakfast[seriously, Meals on Wheels are looting pax, standard bread-cutlet which goes at Rs. 30 in other trains is being served at Rs. 50 here] and went back to sleep. Woke just in time to see Patna and its outers[was underwhelmed to see Rajender Nagar Terminal, was expecting a bigger station there]. Xinged with the mighty faster than wind Toofan Express at PNBE. By the time train reached MGS. delay was ~1.5 hrs; had a Comesum lunch there[quantity was less bu quality was good]. Left BSB but was trolled at Jaunpur where we were left stranded. Post SLN, it was a mighty MPS show as we thrashed stations like anything; were at LKO outers at 2045 hrs[my co-pax had connecting train at LKO; Gorakhdham Exp; they assumed that they will be able to catch the train]; but ah then came classic NR trolling into view. We were stopped for 30 mins at Utratia Jn and then were stopped at-least 3 times between Utratia-Lucknow[The controllers really know how to destroy hopes of people]. Rolled into LKO at 2215 hrs with a delay of ~3 hrs[the DN Kashi Vishwanath Exp from Delhi was also running solid 4 hrs late, it seems]. I m not demying that it is main line but i meant to say that it will provide another route from bsb to ndls/ddn/jammu via lko. Already the mgs ald cnb ndls route is saturated and bsb sln lko is now double electrified so making lko pbh bsb into double electrified would be better. In the pink book of ir for 2015-16 this mainline is mentioned under electrification but till march 2016 i have not seen any progress.
Whn SLN route gt double?? Its not fully double yet... Further, with freight load getting run via SLN & bye-passed LKO @ Utratia, there exist no need for investment over route, which dnt hav any much of freight traffic even!! Via FD do hav more load..Freight & Traffic wise & making it dual makes more sense!! PS: LKO-BSB do hav 3 routes--SLN/PBH/FD..with SLN getting electric & double in a year or two...how mch further track needed to share any traffic?? Already PBH is just passenger route not mch of freight!!
yes sln track is not fully doubled. hope it will get in a year or two. what i am saying is mgs-ald cnb track is fully saturated or even worse than that. If railway has to start a new train from mgs to ndls,ddn,asr it has to look fro a different route. Already they have planned to make lko-pbh-bsb double line so if they make it electrified, in any event of misfortune the route will be an alternate without need of change of loco. for example during the 10 days of block... more...
in lko-sln-bsb in march many trains were diverted via pbh with an eloco in dead and alco heading the train.(a wastage of engine)
