The main reason for OT is....to clear the main line block If 02854 was not given OT...then when simhapuri halts at NLR then this spl has to halt outer which causes main line block making other trains also delayed..especially it effects a lot in goods flow
VM - KGP has given the starter at BZA as HYB - VSKP godavari is delayed. Now i guess, it can't reach VSKP till 6:30 am. Also, MAS - JP has given the starter at BZA as VSKP - HYB godavari is also delayed :).

#RTIREPLY Reason for change in Schedule and delay in Train Running status After change of depature time of Simhapuri express 12709 from 21.00 to 22.10 hrs the train was handed over to SC division on most of the occasions in the RT or 15 to 20mins late as per statistics taken for month of Dec 2014. Only 9 times the train was handed over beyond 30minutes late to SC division.This is also due to late running of the express trains taken over from MAS and GTL divisions. other railways and to meet the terminal constraint at SBC.It is also proposed to avaoid detention of trains at home signals for want of pf at gudur station. In addition to some late running trains are also to be dealt and goods trains are to be moved which givs more earnings for railways than public exchequer.
they want all trains to halt in nellore stn for that they want A1 status and i dont think there any space avl in nlr stn for extra pf's . better they ask pitlines first b/n or near nlr-gdr section for new trains orignating
I don't if the earning of this station crosses 50 Crores. It's not that some MP demands a A1 category for his Constituency and railways will just give it. The Criteria for A1 station is that it should be "Non-suburban stations with annual passenger earnings of Rs. 50 crore and above."
yes A1 status is not required for good facilities i guess. NLR doesn't have space for more platforms or pitlines. GDR should have more platforms like 4 and 5 should be constructed so that trains from RU and MAS can be taken with out waiting at GDR outer. Simhapuri change of timings is a good one everybody wants. RAJ stop can be looked in to, but it hampers the run i guess, as RAJ has given only 5+ hrs run between MAS - BZA.
