Revise the existing Timing of Kannur-Yesvantpur Express(16518):
Kannur - Yesvantpur Express(Train No : 16518) shall leave Kannur at 6.00PM(18.00hrs), instead of 16.30hrs, to save 2 hours being wasted at Mangalore Central. There are some weekly/bi-weekly trains at 18.15hrs from Kannur(12217-Sampark Kranti, 12483-Amritsar, 12287-Dehradun, 12202-Garibrath, etc). All these trains are reaching Mangalore Jn before 20.30hrs. If 16518 CAN-YPR express leaves at 18.00hrs from Kannur just behind Nagercoil-Mangalore Parasuram Express(16650), it will reach Mangalore Central before 20.25 hrs(even arrival before 20.20 hrs is possible). As Parashuram Express(16650) is leaving Kannur at 17.40 hrs for Mangalore, this train(16518) can leave Kannur for Yesvantpur at 18.00hrs after a gap of 20 minutes. So, 16518 YPR express has also almost the same number of stops, with Payyannur Kanhangad as additional(as compared with Sampark Kranti/Dehradun, etc), the same speed and timing can be followed for both the

trains with 15 minutes interval, as 16518 has just 8 coaches and can run very fast. So, this train can merge with 16524 Karwar-YPR express at Mangalore Central and leave MAQ at 20.55hrs for YPR, as 30 minutes are sufficient for these trains to have amalgamation and engine reversal. Unnecessarily, 2 hours of passengers are lost due to the existing timing. If this timing is followed, both Kannur-Yesvantpur express trains will be leaving at the same time from Kannur, as 16528(CAN-YPR Exp.) via Salem is also leaving at the same time from Kannur at 18.00 hrs. As almost all the non-stop express trains(long gap between the stops) are running at a speed of 90 to 110 kmph on Kannur-Mangalore line, this train can reach Mangalore Central from Kannur in less than 2 hours, considering 90kmph running speed and 25 minutes extra time for 3 stops and starting/stopping. As this train has just 8 coaches, it can run at a maximum speed not less than 110kmph. Moreover, once the electrification of Kannur-Mangalore line is over, the starting/stopping time can be considerably reduced to 1 or 2 minutes to achieve full running speed. So, the timing proposed above is absolutely achievable without disturbing the timing of Karwar-Mangalore-Yesvantpur express and a great advantage for the Bangalore passengers from Kannur to Mangalore. At present, Kannur-Yesvantpur express is waiting for Karwar-Yesvantpur express(16524) at Mangalore Central Station for around 2 hours, by losing a considerable time. This waiting time can be minimized to just 20 or 30 minutes, if the proposed timing is implemented. As it is confirmed that Karwar-Yesvantpur train schedule cannot be revised or tightened since it has to run a long distance(260km) from Karwar to Mangalore and it can only run on the existing time schedule, as it is using the same rake of Yesvantpur-Karwar express(16523) for return journey, which reaches Karwar at 14.35hrs and in return, 16524(Karwar-Yesvantpur Express) has to leave from Karwar at 14.55hrs. If the proposed timing is implemented, it will be a great saving of time for the passengers from Kannur to Mangalore, who are losing considerable time at present. As this train has sufficient time compensation at Hassan Jn and Mysore, the final arrival timing at Bangalore/Yesvantpur will not be affected.

ADI MAJN<> MAJN MYS
jOURNEY FROM ADI TO MYS via MAJN can be now reduced by appx 200 KMS.
if we have break journey at MAJN.
Though , the travel time remains more or less same, the distance is less and that saves ticket cost ...
For going to MYS , catch trains at MAJN : no. 16518, 16524. This will take you to MYS at around 05.30/ 05.15 hrs.
Based on feedback the chain may be created.
Thanks

I see that from July onwards the stop at Kengeri has be removed for train 16517 Yeshwantpur-Kannur express. Can some one tell why they have done this. I have been traveling by this train from past 2 years and it has been very convenient to board at Kengeri. Entering city in the evenings is a nightmare due to traffic. Also, i have seen increase in the commuters boarding the train at Kengeri.
Is there any way that public can request the railways to reconsider the decesion

mygrapa@gmail.com is specifically only for swr zone or can be used for whole ir? As i need to request as Jhs has been removed as Comm halt for KSK via Ngp, though it will stop for Tech purpose. Removal of halt like JHS is a thing tough to understand.

Erode too !!
Now i am really confused, on what basis railway decide to give or remove halt
For small stns it can be understand bt stn like Jhansi, erode tough to get. Train will stop for crew change, pantry stuff, water etc bt commercially not halt !!
I think days r not far when i'll come to see stops like Cnb, ngp, bza, Bsl, Kgp are removed for a train!

mygrapa@gmail.com is the email of Mysore Grahaka Parishad. Since commuters from MYS ll be dependent on a halt at KGI, I told that person to email the same complaint. It may not be appplicable to JHS-KSK issue
