Hi All,
Sorry for the delay in Trip report. Without much fuss, I will start off.
Report Part - I
I have traveled to Kolkata on 9th Jan, in 02509(BNC-KYQ PREM). It was a good journey throughout as I have made a detailed trip report.
Now...
more... it was the time to return to workplace. So my Doj was 17th Jan, in 12863.
I reached HWH at nearly 8pm. The train was already pulled into PF22 by a HWH WDM. I was berthed at B4,32 (SU). I realized the CC has increased as compared to the last time I travelled in it. Kept my luggage under the berth, checked around passengers travelling in my coupe. a family of 4 travelling to KPD for medical reasons, 2 berths were alloted from KGP to YPR, I had the Side Upper, and the Side lower was in RAC having a couple.
The coach was nice, neat and clean, but curtains were missing. Charging points were working in alternate coupes. I got down and waited with my Dad and a friend. We were having conversation and I had an eye on the clock. It was past 8.40pm, but still no signs of proceed signal. At 8.50pm, the signal went yellow and the Loco pushed out. I didn't hear any honk, may be because my coach was at the fag end and HWH being a busy terminal, you may lost it in the hustling and bustling. I bade goodbye to my dad and friend, and footplated, till we went out of the PF and started moving further left of the Coach Yard. I came inside, with a heavy heart as this was a very short trip of 7 days after almost 1year.
Anyways, decided to check the washrooms, they were clean, liquid soaps were placed beside the washbasins, all the taps working fine. So initial check was done. Came back to seat. Since my Side lower was RAC, so no chance of sitting there. I sat on the lower berth on the other side. TTE came in, checked the tickets, then I realised that the couple in SLower, was actually brother-sister :)
They kept on chatting with the TTE to get a confirm seat, the TTE informed that for that night a person can go and sleep at berth no. 51 or 53, exactly I dont remember the seat. Soon after the train left MCA, i climbed up and started to have my dinner I bought from home. It was lovely, delicious, "Maa k haath ka khaana". Meanwhile, yes, the train was rollicking ahead with good speed. The Attendant came and took the order for breakfast the next morning. By the time we reached KGP, I had finished my dinner and then the final 2 passengers arrived in the adjoining coupe. A family of 2. We were doing almost on time running. May be a 2-3 mins late. I kept standing on the door and we sped past Hijili but since it was pitch dark and also cold outside. i returned to my berth. Prepared my bed. The bedsheets provided were clean, stainless. I finally retired to my bed around 11.15pm.
Next morning woke up, by the sound of the pantry guy serving breakfast and tea. I peeped at my watch , it showed 9.00am. I was like Ok, I have slept a lot. Freshened up and we reached VZM exactly on time. The OBHS were working continuously to keep the coach clean from rodents and dirt. I thought of going ahead and check the loco, but dropped the idea as it was too far. So when the LP gave a long honk, I boarded back, and came to my seat and finished my breakfast (4 breadslices, butter chiplets: 2 nos, Omlette, Veg Cutlet, Ketchup sachet) and a cup of tea. breakfast around Rs. 35 and tea as usual Rs.10. Then i went to door and kept standing to watch the action from P4. We were storming ahead brushing past all the stations enroute and at 10.10am we reached VSKP outer. We were greeted by DHN-ALP Express moving out of VSKP. We crawled our way towards the PF. And Bang on 10.25am, we stopped. The PF wore a deserted look, i felt somehow. The SL coaches were full upto brim. At VSKP, I had good chance to walk around and stretch a bit. Since the CC gets reversed, I was eager to see the Loco which was to be coupled. It was a LGD P4 which was designated for the remaining journey. After a 25mins stop, we were given the proceed signal and this time the shrill honk was more that audible. loved that honk, and we lurched ahead out of VSKP. i kept standing at the door, not even bothered of going back to my seat. The RAC guy already asked me if he sleep on the side upper berth of mine. I told him to make himself comfortable. The P4, after leaving VSKP, did not blast but kept coasting through out. it was indeed the highlights of the journey from VSKP till the next morning, that we really didn't sped past, it was all about coasting. We stopped at Thadi where we crossed 12840 MAS HWH Mail. It was getting more dusty as we moved ahead towards SLO. By the time it was 12pm, when the Pantry guy came and asked for Veg or Non Veg meal. I placed an order for NonVeg meal and asked when he will be serving. He replied by another 30 mins, so I still had good 30mins to enjoy the journey from the door. Somehow time flew by and just before Pithapuram we crossed the counterpart 12864 YPR-Hwh Exp. We reached SLO at 1.05pm. By the time lunch was served. I enjoyed the lunch provided, (Chicken Curry, Rice, Veg Curry, Dal, pickle and papad). It was real nice stuff. This is another reason I like travelling in this train because of the food they serve, apart from the TT. It's tasty and fresh. I kept sitting in the Side Lower and took a nap for around 2 hrs or so. When I woke up, I found we were crawlingl. I came out, washed my face, opened the door, only to found that we reached BZA before time as it was then 4.30pm.
DEMU's passed by. At 4.45pm, we pulled in to PF1 of BZA. I got down, had a glass of juice, purchased a soft drink bottle and a pair of bananas. Cleaning was going on as usual. Water refilling were done wherein needed. Sharp at 5pm, the LP blared with long honk and we were ready for the onward journey.
To be contd.
