Grievance Description : The General Manager Pune Division Central Railway Sir, Through this portal, I wish to know the present status of doubling and electrification project of the Pune Solapur Wadi sections of Central Railway. It has been more than two decades since this project was started yet the progress is very tardy. As you might be aware Pune Solapur Wadi section is one of the most important stretches connecting not one but 3 to 4 metropolitan cities viz. Mumbai , Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. It may be noted that SCR has on the other hand successfully doubled and electrified the line section upto WADI as well as between Renigunta and Guntakal Junction and work is progressing fast on the Guntakal Wadi section. The scenario and progress of CR is very less and having negative and lethargic attitude. As and when the question of infrastructure development comes up, Cr5 remains backward and always draws a list of lame reasons like funds crunch or some other problem be it of Mumbai suburban trains or that of other stretches. Other zones are also equipped with the same set of difficulties yet are performing much better. Please arrange to give me point wise update as under:- 1. Total route kms in Pune Daund stretch: 2.
