To major extent, charting is done as per Logic given in the software which goes on randum selection of coaches in a class. The charting Officer can interven to some extent.
You are talking aboout two different PNRs. One of my know group of father and son (minor) had such a bad experinece once. The tikcet (for the 2) had a confirmed berth in S-10 and the 2nd passenger was at RAC 1. on Charting, a shock was there that RAC 1 was allotted in coach S-1.

manage and they had to forgo the berth of S-1.
Wish you good Luck.

you can adjust your seats with other copassengers. dont be foolish and book costlier tickets in tatkal/wl simply for the sake of travelling together. no tensions. request adjustment with co passengers. i'm sure somebody may help you.

Sir, you are 7 passengers in all (5 + 2). You can not book a single ticket till you do not go for Bulk-Booking (which is also not permitted just for 7). Hence cancellation and rebooking (whether as of now at RAC 67 or in Tatkal) will not help you.
The five will (normally) come in a coach; try to adjust excepting sleeping time.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
