We all know that 12802 NDLS Puri Purushottam Exp is hauled by WAP-4 from KGP to PURI.
Now like all of you I have also a Curiosity why WAP-7 can't be provided end to end with this Train. Today found a "Significant Information" from E-Loco which is the "MAIN REASON" of it and I described it here.

Brief Reason: Train detained at KGP station after power reversal for LP having no handling of 3PH loco, Fresh conventional loco provided, poor planning by crew booking staff.
Finding: Train was abnormal late due to resheduled and incoming loco was programmed to work the train up to PUI. LC/ADA & KGP had pre-intimation that 12802 Express was coming with loco-22334/GZB, but working loco was 30228/GZB. LP/KGP(D/C) refused to work WAP7 loco as handling of WAP7 loco not provided by Mech. Dept. even WAP7 is running in the system since 2 years.
Classification of Detention: Crew/Loco Operation
So, from the above incident of 1st January 2015 it can be easily seen that Crew don't want to handle WAP-7 loco from KGP to Puri. Though WAP7 is running in the system since 2 years. This is the reason why 12801/12802 Purushottam Exp is not allowed WAP-7 from KGP to Puri and Vice Versa.

Please note that ALL LP's of ECOR have already completed their 3 Phase Training at LGD ELS like SER and SECR and Kalinga Utkal Exp is a train which goes to Puri with WAP-7 DAILY.
