Yeh Loco kya BIO Diesel mein chalta hai?
If NOT, then it's Pollution.
Don't know why running with diesel in Electrified Section when we have 5000+ electric loco in the Loco Bank of IR.

One of the major reason is platform availability and time constraints at pune jn due to which many south bound trains from mumbai get diesel locos. It avoids loco change at pune. Perhaps may be once electrification of pune daund section gets completed it might get eloco.

Sir...i have same concern....IR running diesel loco in electrified section in many part of india like asr/jat to sre, asr shc garibrath in asr-ndls etc....

Even if it is running on bio-diesel, it causes similar amounts of pollution as normal diesel locos. Not much difference on that front. Also all bio-diesel locos in IR run on a mixture of diesel land bio diesel, usually 95% or 80% diesel and 5% or 20% Bio diesel. Pollution levels are not really different. Use of bio-diesel is mainly to reduce diesel ( non-renewable resource) consumption.
Most probably this loco is due for maintenance soon.
