Train to Jog falls/Talaguppa : Seen here are the two instances of the same train : 16205 Talguppa Mysore Intercity Express captured on two seperate days at Shimoga Town. This is the only "express" train that runs upto Talguppa during day time. There are two passenger trains that runs up to Talguppa (From Shimoga and Mysore) during the day. Apart from the above mentioned intercity express train, there is a daily overnight express train that connects Talguppa to Bangalore (via Shimoga). Talaguppa (Kannada: ತಾಳಗುಪ್ಪಾ) is a village located in Sagara Taluk and it is the gateway to the world famous Jog Falls, the highest waterfall in India and Talaguppa is the linking Railway terminus for Jog falls. The Jog Falls is created by the Sharavathi River dropping 253 m (830 ft), making it the second-highest plunge waterfall in India after the Nohkalikai Falls with a drop of 335 m (1100 ft) in Meghalaya.
