Addressing misuse of WiFi...
more... at railway stations
1. Proper firewalls should be used by station WiFi teams
2. Software like OpenDNS could be used to prevent access to unauthorised sites
3. The sites flagged by the Ministry of Information & Broadcast should be blocked on the railway station WiFi s
4. Downloading should not be allowed through station WiFi
5. Like stations in many European countries, WiFi should be given free for only the first 15 minutes and then on a chargeable basis
6. A registration process to use the internet, like of the airports should be initiated
7. The PNR number of the passenger should act as the login ID if he wants to access the WiFi. This will make his realise that whatever he surfs could be traced back to him
8. As soon as someone opens a non-allowed site, the browser should get locked with a full page notice about the infringement showing up
9. Such phones/phone numbers should also be banned from using station WiFi for the next 6 months
10. Access should be restricted to one connection per PNR on the days of travel only.
