The 4 Deen Dayalu coaches that were part of the inaugural rake of SMET tri-weekly has now been allotted to RC Express. Here are a few pics.

Notice the last pic:

the first time. Maybe they are present in all coaches and I might have not observed.
But this is a good little improvement. Usually in IR many stations lack PFs or the PFs are short in length. Hence almost always its the UR coaches which extend out of the PF. People especially - senior citizens, physically challenged, women and children struggle to get a grip/hold and climb the stairs of UR coaches from the ground. This little hold will surely help a lot. (Anyway that's what I assuming it to be for).

My assumption here was wrong. Sorry about that.

On Monday when I was getting down from the FoB to PF 9, I noticed that the train stabled near the pitlines had couple of Deen Dayalu coaches. I casually glanced and saw it was NE (or NF) and then thought it must be the SMET tri-weekly which I had seen during inauguration which had NER and CR Deen Dayalu coaches. Then when I sat down in my train and glanced, I noticed that it had RC board. That's when I assumed that

the Tri-weekly's coaches were given to RC, since it was one of the prominent trains of SWR. I got off my coach went to the front and tried to confirm my assumption that it had CR Deen Dayalu coaches in the front. It did have. Then I got few pics and was more interested in the handles as mentioned above.

My assumption was wrong, the tri-weekly still has its Deen Dayalu coaches. Here are the pics of the coaches and their zones. Stabled at BAW PF 2.

Towards SMET:

All SCR and Deen Dayalu coaches are new - 2016.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
