Re# 2204278-1
New types of trains proposed/introduced by RM are basically, too many babies with little difference, but serving no good purpose, the :
(1) Gatimaan- 160kmph, Fully ac, LHB coach, Auto closing door, better aesthetics/facilities, with train hostess- Failed, Only a few of such trains feasible on IR network as replacement of existing successful shatabdies.
(2) Mahamana-110KMPH, AC+nonAC, ICF coach, Better facilities/aestheics, 15% extra fare- i.e. upgraded SF Express with 15% extra fare. LHB coaches shall make it more useful-Most Successful
(3)
...
Humsafar-130kmph-Fully ACIII only, LHB coach- Better facilities/aesthetics, 15% extra fare,Flexi fares- Introduced- Limited scope. It would be better to add upgraded ACII coaches also. so it would basically be an upgraded AC SF Express.
(4) Tejas- 130kmph- Fully AC, chaircar, day journey LHB coach- Much better facilities/aesthtics, likely to be 20-30% costlier-Similar to Gatimaan, Only a few of such trains feasible on IR network as replacement of existing successful shatabdies.
(5) Antyoday-110/130kmph-LHB coach- Better facilities/aesthetics, 15% extra fare-Better to add upgraded SL,ACII,ACIII i.e it will become Mahamana Class train.
(6) UDAY-Fully AC, DD chaircar, overnight journey-LHB coach-to be introduced
-
Of the above, Mahamana with LHB coaches is the best option which is surprisingly not being further pursued after the introduction of successful Delhi-Banaras Mahamana. -
And the worst one the UDAY, after experience of day journey AC DD chaircar trains, any body can say that overnight chaircar is a sure shot recipe of failure.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
