This are "Train TYPE" given in IR to calculate fare of a particular train.
Mail/EXPRESS to Calculate Mail Express train
Rail Motor type is to calculate Fare in Garib Rath Trains and some of hill train CC class.
Composite: For the trains ( Superfast and M/E Trains) where a part of Journey is run as Passenger/Express train so Those passenger who Board

the train from the particular station then he is charged Passenger fare for that part of Journey . It may be Mail/Express Cum Passenger or Superfast Cum Express depend on the train .
For example : In Kalka Mail ( which is superfast train ) those Passenger who board from Delhi and travel up to Kalka they will not be charged superfast fare. They will be charged only Express fare. But the passenger who board the train before delhi till Kalka will be charged as superfast fare.

Well, the definition is prominent for all GR as Rail_Motor. Some train, which should be Composite, but they arnt:
1. Vikramshila: BGP-PNBE. Passenger run but tagged & charged as SF.
2. Magadh Exp: Passenger in between IPR-PNBE. Tagged & charged as SF.

Dear Vinay,
12402 is Composite train in IR ( Superfast and Express fare between PNBE to IPR )
12401 is Superfast train in IR ( Orgin to Dest all station is superfast fare)
Please check for 12402Magadh Exp ( Which is superfast train) PNBE to IPR is given Express fare and train is given as Composite train in IR
...
Check the Travel hours it takes 2 hours between PNBE to IPR and AVG is Coming 32 KM . In reverse 12401 is also superfast train and fare for IPR to PNBE is also superfast fare as it take 1.35 hour and AVG is 41.
Regarding Vikarmshila Yes I agree IR need to make it composite as Mail Express train like 14056 take 4.50 Hours and charging as M/E fare and and VIkramshila is charged superfast and take 5.30. Hours
But the Superfast rules calculated on Orgin to destination only ( AVG speed 55 ) and not for intermediate stn as per IR rules.

sir why is this concept of composite present only in certain trains?there will be hundreds of trains that run above 55kmph in some region and below it in other regions...so why not all trains are tagged as composite?what is the factor determining it?

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
