I always wished the same i.e. JEA is renamed as 'Gorakhpur City' as 6 pairs of trains ter/org @ JEA.
Hence, it will b easier for normal passengers to relate dat this specific stn. (JEA) is an another satellite / terminal station of Gorakhpur.

Not sure, if name of defunct stn is given to an another station.

Coming back to topic of renaming JEA, I am told by a frnd who hails from GKP dat 'Gorakhpur City' is more suitable name (location wise) for Domingarh (DMG) where 6 pairs of trains have a schedule halt + it is a detention halt when all PFs of the main GKP are full.

Henceforth, Nakaha Jungle (JEA) can b renamed as "Gorakhpur North" or "Gorakhpur Town" .

Actually, Gorakhnath Mandir is more near to main GKP than JEA.

Last but not the least, we have been hearing Gorakhpur Cantt. becoming satellite stn of GKP but no official update, atleast as of now.

I don't think any infrastructural remains of 'Gorakhpur City' remains plus I am assuming this station would have been defunct ages ago.

Domingarh sure is used to stop trains when platforms at GKP are not available but it too doesn't lie anywhere close to the city.
