Arambagh Trip
Part -2
The newly constructed line is a bit haphazatly constructed with many loose rails lying half connected to the operational one. The alignment is very high as there are many rivers cris-crossing the route (Damodar, Mundeshwari and many more rivulets). One thing noticeable was that the bridges did not produce a clattering sound while the train was crossing, most probably new technology as I did not see any iron girders. Instead it was concrete, like road bridges. At Arambagh I witnessed a very desolate station suddenly turning to life at

the arrival of our train. The number of passengers for the return one was quite good. We stayed back at Arambagh for some RF planning to capture the return train at 5 in the afternoon. The job of extending the line to Bishnupur has slowed down a bit though there are evidences of bulldozers and soil dug out. The station has three platforms (one single discharge and one island) with a FOB. The station office is separate having two UTS counters and one PRS counter which works in a single shift. There are no stalls on the PFs and only some tea stalls are there outside. As the DN train left it literally became a deserted one. In these conditions, we two started our RF session, the results of which are the pics that follow. In the return journey the most interesting thing was the six-coach AMBG-TAK EMU. For the first time I heard about and saw such a car. Changed trains at Tarakeshwar and reached HWH by 19.30 hrs. That was the end of a day full of new discoveries and rail fanning thrill. Hope you would love the pics.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
