I happened to travel in lokmanya tilak express from madurai to renigunta. Thogh the coaches looked very old the travel was very comfortable in second class berths with practically no jolts and shaking from side to side. I could sleep well that night. In the return direction I travelled by III ac in pandian express a prestigious train. unfortunate the travel was troublesome with heavy jolting/shaking from side to side with the cushion in the berth was bucket shaped and breaking the joints in the back. I preferred III ac because of my earlier travail/difficulty while travelling in II class berth in pandian. Even then the result was the same for both the classes. Are the rakes of pandian express are very old and outlived its life. Or the rakes of central railways far more than southern railways. Why...
