Was getting increasingly overwhelmed and unable to control my tears at the calm with which she was speaking, especially describing the funeral and her recovery from her grief.
If our humble contributions thus far have given her hopes, imagine the difference we can make to Ms. David and hundreds of needy students if we turn up in full numbers.
Granted that though a big figure is welcome, is not an obligation, but the sheer number of contributors is what we should aim at to show the number of support to Swapnil from railfans...
more... who bonded despite not all have met face to face.
She has thanked all railfans who came from Delhi, Nagpur, Bhopal and other cities.
I've been told by Dipyaman that a lot of friends from IRI are looking forward to confirmation of receipt.
I, infact, was told by Ms. David herself that she tried to check the credentials of donors, especially those who have singularly donated generous amounts, but the bank couldn't tell her as it was an e-transfer... Infact, IRI members would be happy to hear that the sum collected as of 14 august is good enough to indicate participation of more friends than the 37 odd confirmed on the facebook community Railfans' club of India. If IRI could afford us an approximate head-count of contributors from IRI, we shall be able to address your anticipation better.
If the donors have copied the account number correct, there's no second place the money will reach.
In fact I forwarded my collection to another (then deputed) member in charge of collections, and never felt the need to confirm if the money made it. The Railfan trust is the biggest thing I've banked on. Rest assured, all proceeds have reached the right place. Regds.
