After HWH Maidan 1 track should be gone towards your proposed Shalimar stn, B Garden, Nazirgunge and another will be gone towards Ramrajatala already decided by IR. I want to add that this track should be extended upto Salap NH6 Road or more extended upto Jagadishpur - Dankuni

Recently I visited Howrah station. I am surprised about the situation of this station. Station is very large, but management is very low. Howrah town is very inhygenic,dirty,uncleaned and vogus town.Traffic management is very poor.What a hail Howrah city is! Terminal in Mumbai is far better than Howrah.Mumbai CST has 18 platforms,Mumbai LTT has 12 platforms, that is why they are better one.Howrah containing 23 platform,I remark that huge 23 platform is the only reason for bad condition of Howrah.Follow Mumbai,make more terminals within 20 platform at differnt location.I heard from passengers that Kolkatan depend for long travelling only on Howrah.Other terminals are lame.Why?????I can not get answer.Hope anybody will answer

If only CSTM terminal can not maintain flow of Mumbai passengers, that is whyt LTT was built at Kurla. Why Howrah suffering till now. New megaterminal substitute of HWH must be must be must be opened soon.

well we have 5/6 stations acting as terminals...
shalimar/santragachi are substitutes to howrah...
apart from that haldia/digha/kharagpur all lie within 50-125 km of hwh and act as terminals for various trains...
kolkata is a substitute to sealdah
barrackpur

Hot topic is now how IR can get revenue so that it can fulfil its loss. I think fare hike is not only the way. I want to give some suggestion to IR.
1. IR should abolish free hospital facility to all the Rail employees. Hospitals is needed in remote area, it does not have need in metropolitan city. I suggest to IR to give facility free treatment only for running staff like Loco Pilot, Goods Guard or passenger train Guard, Station Master, Gangman, Trolleyman, Technician Gr,Signal man and some very imporatnt executive officer who are horse of IR. Other staff who works at Head Office or DRM office should not get hospital facility.

Bonus at the time of Deepawali should be got only by Running Staff mentioned above.Other employee do not need any bonus, IR can save crores Rs from it.
3. Bungalow Peon recruitment must be abolished. It should be traeted like social evil like Dowry system. If Bungalow Peon is recruited, they should not be paid Railway salary. They should get Rs 6000 per month consolidated as they are illeterate and they are recruited directly without any examination.
4. Ticket checking should be increased, In Sealdah division mainly, TTE is very rare here. IR can appoint vigilance in tender. Nexus is happened in tender. IR make huge loss from tender. Corruption in Rail must be prevented.
5. Train must be run regularly like Metro rail so that common people can depend on it.Example Sealdah-Dankuni section and Barddhaman-Asansol section. Common people prefer to take Bus or auto.
6. Some unpopular section may be provided to PPP model under the control of IR.Slum beside Rail track may be opted out, IR can use its own planning
7. Direct train must be introduced among different section as passengers do not prefer to change train again and again. Example IR should provide Barddhaman - Sealdah Local, Kharagpur - Sealdah Local. Otherwise passenger like to use Bus as they do in BWN-Karunamoyee or BWN - Esplanade bus service.
8. IR can lessen fare charge in unpopular route to attract pasasenger.
9. Rail track repairing must be accelerated. I have watched that some caution of 30 kmph or 20 kmph is remained for years in some bridge or point. Train movement hampers due to this. Otherwise Rail can not compete with Highway bus service.
10. School facility of IR should also be abolished. IR employee get high salary. They do not need free school served by Rail. It is wastage of money.
Once upon a time at the British era this facilities was given as employee was not available who were interested in IR job. At presently IR employee get satisfactory salary after 6th pay commission. So if IR abolish all the facility, million of candidate still would be hungry for railway job.
OK railfan plz give your opinion to increase Rail revenue.

My suggestion---- IR can withdraw unpopular train if income is less than expense. IR can increase speed of some crawling trains like Varanasi-SDAH, Janata exp HWH-Delhi, Lalquilla etc. I support your report against bunglo peon. Illeterate man should not get Rail Job.

I think GM,DRM,CPTM & other high ranked IRS officer must get bungalow peon, but the bungalow peon should be recruited by RRC examination. This officers suffer lot of pressure to maintain IR punctually, they are great. so peon must be got by them.

The 4 Main Duronto Trains from East India towards North India are Sealdah - New Delhi Duronto for West Bengal, Shalimar - Patna Duronto for Bihar, Kolkata - Amritsar Ex Duronto alias Superfast for Punjab & Bhubaneswar - New Delhi Duronto for Odisha. Sealdah - New delhi Duronto is the first introduced in India. It is totally AC. It is best in India. I have travelled Sdah-NDLS , HWH-NDLS. Both train is good. Sdah duronto is more than good.

Puri - Sealdah duronto is not only duronto. It has significance. It is the first ever train from Sealdah. Sealdah is main Kolkata. You can rreach anywhere in Kolkata from sealdah easily. You do not need taxi. I know why you do not like this train, it does not stop at other station in Orisha. Sorry it is duronto. I may request to Rail to introduce SDAH-Puri SF train stoppage at Dakshineswar, KGP, Cuttack, Khurda Road

Bhattanagar ACC Rail- Link picture. Don't be confused, no platform is at Bhattanagar, only RPF camp & Goods yard is there, although there is enough space between tracks to build platform.

Railway is the largest transport in India. They can not avoid passenger facility. Revenue is needy, goods train is the main source of revenue. But I think that Railway can give 2 pairs Local train at the pick hours via ACCL. Goods train will not be hampered. I think Satragachi - Dankuni , Sealdah - Kharagpur must hit popularity. Passenger of Bally, Dunlop, Dakshineswar, Belghoria, Barrakpur,Dankuni, Janai Rd will use ACC Link to travel SER section, they do not go Howrah. It is better for Howrah also. Arnab bhai, Sealdah -Puri Duronto is not onl OK train, it is megahit train. Do not compare any other train with it. It is far hit than any other train. HWH-Puri is superflop whereas SDAH-Puri is superhit. I think I do not need any more example. ACCL is now hot cake. If Chennai, Mumbai train would be introduced from Sealdah, I am sure it will break the record of Coromondal or Gitanjali.

i would say that a couple of trains in both directions should be run on the ACCL during peak hours only. It won't hamper freight traffic much. BTW SDAH -PURI Duronto's patronage has nothing to do with ACCL, it is hit because of Sealdah as it more strategically located in Kolkata.
