every college/school has a application form for filling for students concession. It has to be submitted along with the booking slip. But you will only get students concession in 2nd sitting and Sleeper Class. trains like Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, Garib Rath, or any other special trains are not included in it

I want to stay in rooms / dormitories at Bombay central Railway station, how can i book in advance ? any idea , suggestion, bcoz, i want to pass only 4-5 hours only.
IS it possible ? my parents are with me at the station, they can not sit for the long time, and we are reaching at 3.30am, and we want to go outside the station at around 8am, but my parents need to rest and sleep properly, so that kind of rooms are available at BCT. ?

I will tell you all what happened to me in BCT retiring room. It is located on the 3rd floor. There is a lift. I went upstairs and there was a guy sitting there.I needed a room for 6 hours only. He gave me a big room for Rs 650. I asked for a receipt and he told me to come back later for it. When I went to the counter again for checking out he tried to dodge me for the receipt. I knew he was trying to pocket the whole money. Then I told him give me a receipt or give back Rs 350. He gave me back Rs 350. This is a very recent incident.

Usually there are not many takers for BCT retiring rooms. Just go there and contact the desk on 3rf floor.

There is a small hotel across the road (Just Opposite to BCT station main exit, In between left side from ST Depot to Maratha Mandir Cinema Hall. You can get a room for Rs. 500/- to 700/-. for half day. The hotel is neat and clean. You may ask your parents to wait in 2nd class waiting hall and you can alone go out and set the rate. If you go all, they'll charge for full day.

You can book and travel after booking only to get comfortable seat to view scenes nearby. There is crowd in unreserved coaches as fare is less.

If you are really fond of travelling in those trains then only travel.
They took anything from 6-9 hours to reach when you can reach in 4 hours by Car.

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries.
