VISAKHA DURONTO should be closed with immediate effect. It is getting 25% occupancy in major runs on an average. Except peak seasons and festival train runs 75% vacant
it is a huge loss creator train for IR. They should increase 3A coach in garibrath SC -VSKP and should replace 2 SL coach of godavari exp with 3A coach.
which would create more revenue fo IR

That's the subject matter under the purview of railway board...There are so many trains wit low occupancy running over Indian railways....we do not have a right to comment on the closure of these trains with immediate effect....we are responsible for our comments...Let the matter be looked looked into by railway board for all such trains...Please refrain from making comments as we are not from the decision making body..Suggestions are passed to railway board from Zonal railways...Let them take a decision.....we are all considerate about revenue losses equally...that does not mean shut every train with low occupancy...if that is the case Indian railways cannot expect profits without running adequate number of trains...nd not too many trains would ply on tracks....

The attitude of the Railways in ignoring Visakhapatnam has drawn flak from MP K. Haribabu.
The need for re-routing train No. 12245/56 Howrah-Yesvantapur Duronto was published in The Hindu on Sept 7 (‘On The Move’) and again on Sept 27. In a letter to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Monday, Mr. Haribabu underlined the need to re-route the 12245/46 train, which is running five days a week via Duvvada, without touching Visakhapatnam. A large number of passengers
commute between Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru and Tirupati and back. In view of the marginal occupancy of the train, a few halts are being provided as a policy matter, but Vizag, the biggest station next to Howrah in this route ‘is conveniently ignored for reasons unknown’. Mr. Haribabu appealed to the Railway Minister to issue instructions to officials to incorporate a halt for 12445/46 at Visakhapatnam immediately since a new timetable would come into force from October 1.

I completely agree with you. But the problem is, some people want to make issue out of nothing. Nobody said anything about rerouting other trains which were diverted earlier. VSKP is a big city and needs good connection. But asking to reroute a Duronto which runs full throughout the year? Isn't it too much? They find problem with each and everything. They neglect the fact that VSKP is the most beautiful station in entire ECoR, it has both ELS and DLS (which other place in ECoR has both)? I do agree that there has been some instances of partiality but certainly there were many positives which are never talked about.

Guys don't worry much about IRTTC meeting leaks. Last year also they told nothing is cleared for VSKP. But it got 5 new trains. Just wait for June budget. All these won't help. Also interim budget trains some times never see tracks. Some time back i posted 2009-10 interim and June 2010 full budget it clearly tells many interim budget trains not started yet even though its same UPA2.

yes .. lets hope for the best .. atleast lets hope for the least a train to bangalore , tirupati and new delhi.. with increase in freq of chennai is all that should be the priority...

May be Tirupati train we can expect that's also may be not possible as we got last year one train to tpty. BBS-TPTY satday train given GNWL for VSKP as its given for VSKP and last minute went to BBS. Remaining all may be difficult. I feel VSKP-SBC is what all looking at..lets see what happens.
Mostly UP, Bihar, Raj, TN region gets more trains in interim budget.

South Central Railway will run eight AC Super Fast Special Trains between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam to clear the extra rush of passengers as detailed below:
Accordingly, Train No. 02728 Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam AC Super Fast Special train will depart Secunderabad at 22 10 hrs o­n 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th December, 2013 (Fridays) and arrive Visakhapatnam at 10 35 hrs o­n the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 02727 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad AC Super Fast Special train will depart Visakhapatnam at 19 05 hrs o­n 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th
December, 2013 (Saturdays)and arrive Secunderabad at 07 50 hrs o­n the next day.
Enroute, these AC Super Fast Special trains will stop at Kazipet, Warangal, Vijayawada, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Annavaram, Tuni, Anakapalli and Duvvada in both the directions.
These AC Super Fast special trains will consist of 17 Coaches viz., o­ne Ist AC, three AC II tier, eleven AC III tier and two motor van coaches.

hmmm..u r really correct in this regard.. on one side wen ppl of telangana asking whatever possible for hyd..shame on our leaders they are fighting among ourselves between bza and vskp for rail zones.. so naturally vskp will be a looser if tis continues..we need a very strong political local leader.. maybe someone like kishore chandra deo.. to demand airport expansion, new rail zone and film and tourism base as well as IIT and AU central univ status....let others like high court and administrative capital be at bza and rayala seema... we can have IT and industry capital in vizag...lets see if he does something...

But practically its not possible to divide the responsibilities of capital cities in our system. If that's possible already we might have seen many cities in india which are not capital eccentric. Not even a single metro which is out capital

let e co rly first satisfy it's hunger for trains to run from bbs and puri with empty coaches and later if they r kind enough they might allot something to bramhapur....till then we have to wait....but tat seems really difficult as bbs is getting new terminal and they might allot for next 10 yrs trains to start from there giving others less chance....

they can extend trains to coa ...tats not a problem at all...for vskp as they reject the proposals in irctc it's better if madame could interfere into the issue with mos and get something done or else all time slots r taken away by bbs & puri ...we might not to get Bangalore tirupaty and kollam trains if it's too late....

This is the demand from public in western odisha :
1. visakhapatnam-jaipur exp. via raipur.,in the same timing of durg-jaipur exp.. it will fulfill demands of train from visakhapatnam,titlagarh and some part of western odisha and also from raipur..
2. visakhapatnam – indore exp. via raipur.. in two pairs.., one pair goes via bilaspur and another one was from via durg,nagpur.. it fulfill the demands from raipur, visakhapatnam, and western odisha..
visakhapatnam – jammu tawi exp.. via titlagarh , kantabanji,raipur.. in the same timing of durg-jammu tawi exp..
4. puri-pune exp.. via sambalur , titlagarh, raipur.,
5. koraput/visakhapatnam-allahabad exp via sambalpur/raipur.. as the case may be..
6. kakinada-patna exp. via vizianagaram, rayagada , titlagarh , bolangir, rourkela

We also divert the rail traffics from howrah/eastern parts to southern areas via bhubaneswar…

DD is good only for highly congested and huge waitlisting all round the year sectors or highly patronized non metro inter city travel or between two metros with some highly commercial revenue generating halts.....so the above DD may not hold good in the choice of route....

Sikkim is bit cut out from them as it has a boundary of Tibet to its northern,Bhutan to its East,West Bengal to its South & Nepal to its West.
But still its considered to be a NE State.Our ministers should look into its beautification & promote tourist based industries in & around Sikkim.If there are 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in adjoining Assam & 2 in W.B,,then a little attraction from the Central Govt can bring a Heritage Site declared in Sikkim too.
