Footfall report of 13351 Dhanbad - Alleppey Express between 01-04-24 to 16-05-24 - 01-04-24 से 16-05-24 तक 13351 धनबाद - अलप्पुज़ा एक्सप्रेस की फुटफॉल रिपोर्ट।
Useful data. There are stations like Nuagaoan, Bondamunda ,Rengali where there are hardly any passengers who have boarded/deboarded in one month. Should they not re-look at the stoppage at these stations?
For 45 trips if we consider atleast 10 boarding per halt then they are atleast 35 stops below 450 count of the total 80 stoppages which have to be reviewed. They can reduce 20 halts for this train.
That is why extensions are such a sham and so detrimental to the original station in the first place. BKSC is allocated PQWL in 13351 that was it's own train once. RNC Division has cut off BKSC from several of it's train inspite of the fact that both lie in SER, because the divisional changeover is there. MURI lies in RNC Division and leaps the benefits of GNWL there. Similarly ASN is now facing the RLWL axe on several trains originating from KOAA side. ... more...
That is why I was originally sympathetic to the guy from MLDT when Farakkha got extended. While MLDT retains GNWL as of now, it is likely to be discarded from the next ARP, as zonal changeover is there.
Quota distribution depends upon the will of the zone and division. For instance, there is only GNWL quota on 18619/20 Intercity Express. RNC - MURI(incl) is under SER/RNC division, MURI(excl) - CRP(excl) is under SER/ADRA division, CRP(incl) - PKA(incl) is under ECR/DHN division, PKA(excl) - DUMK(incl) is under ER/ASN division, and DUMK(excl) - GODA is under ER/MLDT division.
SER can well accomodate BKSC under GNWL quota for SER/RNC and SER/CKP division originating trains.
Point taken, but such allowances won't be made for comparatively long distance trains like Delhi and North India bound trains. Hope you catch my point. That's why I believe that extension of any trains is ultimately a major loss for the initial originating/terminating stations.
Point samjha, par aise chhuttiyan Dilli aur North India bound trains jaise comparatively long routes wali trains ke liye nahi milegi. Umeed hai tune mera point samjha. Isiliye mujhe lagta hai ki kisi bhi train ka extension shuru mein originating ya terminating stations ke liye badi nuksan hai.
What you've said is correct i think. Made an RTI for this and got some shocking results...
KCVL has free slots (pit line number 4). But it will create impact in occupation & loading of pitlines at KCVL due to which no new or special trains can be operated from there.
Alappuzha didn't have any IOH SHED, COACHING SHED, WAGON DEPOT SHED & C&W OFFICERS. It just have a pitline workline facility. (Even Shoranur with a pitline capacity of 10 ICF coaches owns all the above mentioned facilities and maintaining only a handful of 2 to 3 train rakes of Nilambur Road Passenger Trains Rakes)
But SR could have constructed these facilities rather to destroy this pitline why because constructing a pitline now a days is not that easy task and Allappey has it by luck.
One small impact in this is only one train got extended to TVC once again. That proposal pic is also attached for readers reference.
INSTEAD SOUTHERN RAILWAY CAN UTILIZE THIS PITLINE BY MAKING THE PRIMARY MAINTENANCE FOR ALAPPUZHA CHENNAI CENTRAL EXPRESS & ITS RSA CHENNAI CENTRAL TRIVANDRUM EXPRESS HERE SO THAT IT MAY DECONGEST THE BASIN BRIDGE YARD SOMEHOW SO THAT NEW TRAINS CAN BE OPERATED IN THAT SPECIFIC SLOT FROM CHENNAI.
But for this, the Chennai Allappey express should be speeded up from Palakkad Junction to ALLP as this trains' top speed in this entire kerala route is only 60 KMPH whereas from CBE to MAS it has 120 KMPH. So that it can reach ALLP by before 8 AM so that it can do Maintenance works there itself with 6 hours of Scheduled slot.
Alappuzha executive express can also be considered for this...
