There is no politics here, let understand rail map, Mysore is just 5 hrs bus journey from shornur, 3.5 hrs journey from Nilambur but how many hours it takes to reach Mysore from shornur, minimum 10 hours right. Let useless Kerala governments acquire land for Nilambur Batheri line that can be connected to Nanjangod near Mysore.

5 hrs from Shoranur? It takes atleast 3 hrs to reach Nilambur, then 1.5 hrs till Nadukani.. Then another 2.5-3 hours via Gudalur-Gundlupet. Total of 7-8 hours minimum (if in a KSRTC bus)..
And btw, Manorama aayakalam muthale MYS-KCVL paranjond irikuarnu.. Humsafar vannapo nirthi.. Ipo veendum kuthipokki.. Athanu sherikum nadannath.

There is no politics here. Inter zone/ division rivalry. Just see how SR treats SWR train from Bangalore to Mangalore. They say no PF and various other issues. When almost all trains starting from Mangalore to Kerala are from MAQ and not from MAJN, why can't they let one and only train from Bangalore to main station MAQ ? Why can't be little magnanimous? I feel till now, SWR were silent. Now they started same treatment for a PGT divn bound train. In fact, CAN express is a SWR train. In a way, this can build some pressure on PGT divn who use MAQ as a cleaning station of all Kerala trains.

It would be better if a new ERS to MYS train runs via SRR, MAQ, HAS be introduced instead of asking for extension of 16527/28. Timings can be say 1430 at ERS, 2130 at MAQ, 0600 at MYS. Return can be 2000 at MYS, 0530 at MAQ, 1200 at ERS. Entire Malabar region will get connected to MYS.
