Sometimes if Kannur-YPR is late, then it is halted at the outer of CRLM for some time and only enters the pf just few minutes before SBC-ERS intercity. This is apparently to ensure that the railway gate is not closed for a long time due to the shortened length of one of the pf.
Ironically in this route, it is only in the morning and one hour in the evening that this station is busy, rest of the time it is virtually empty
