Passengers association studies, recommends speed-up for Kerala-bound snail train : Jayanti-Janata Express. A unique initiative done by functionaries of the Western India Passengers Association (WIPA) who met met top railway officials of Mumbai, Solapur and Guntakal divisions to present their research on how the train can be made faster save anything between 6 and 10 hours. Passengers from Mumbai to Palakkad and passengers from Pune, Solapur and Guntakal have to solely depend on this train to go to Palakkad and beyond. Its a janta express. Even 19023/19024 running on a 120-130 KMPH rated tracks crawls at an average speed of less than 50 KMPH. What these people need is a newer, faster and a dedicated train via PGT.
