Rail-fanning cum TRIP Report from SC to SBC.....in 12494.
Class AC-1
DoJ 20 Jul 12...............................
Reached SC at around 1710 hrs on 20th July, when GOD Indra was very happy on Hyderabadis,,,,,,

Arrived from PF#10 side, and then after arriving in AC waiting room at PF#10,went out to enjoy weather at SC station....
Soon 12707 AP Sampark Kranti
is chugging in on PF#10 from KCG side....
The train has Xtra AC-3T coach attached making 3 AC -3 Coaches...
The CC is SLR-GS-S1---S8-PC-SP-BE1-B2-B1-A1-GS-SLR---while departing towards NZM...it undergoes loco reversal at SC.....
Station is buzz of activity at this time.....................
Ajanta Express occupying its usual PF#9 at SC, with one extra sleeper, and total 14 sleeper coaches ,,,,,,,,,,,,
2 MLY shed WDM-3As are put in charge of hauling Ajanta Express.....
It has regular Extra sleeper coach now a days....
On PF#10, theres is AC and Sleeper Waiting hall..
In AC Waiting hall, theres 20 Rs charges for 2 hrs or part followed by 10 for extra each hr..only for AC-3 pax, and none for AC-1 and AC-2 pax.
Similarly on PF#1, there is Sr CTZN anfd HP Waiting hall , besides Sleeper, ladies and AC waiting hall.
Departures are as follows:-
Charminar dep from 1 and Chennai Exp from 2
Godavari with KVB wrappings on AC coaches dep from PF#1.
Padmavati from PF#5
Narayanadri was on PF#8(????)
There are total 12 PFs—1,2,3,4,5,6a, 6b, 7A, 7B, 8, 9, 10...
Departueres at SC

This is power block day..
Arrivals as follows:-
Devgiri arrival at 2300 hrs instead of normal 1415 hrs, remember Vidarbha accident.
East coast is RT/////
Current Reservations are avbl both at PF#1 and 10.
Not much rush at either, and a board is avbl on 1 side, which tells avbl of current reservations..plus a ticker is going on at both PF#1 and 10 about av of current reservations.....GOOD JOB SCR
e.g 12760 CR avbl upto BZA,
12604 CR avbl in AC-2 and 3 both
12704 CR avbl upto Guntur
IRCTC food plaza on PF#1 seems crowded..
Had mandatory tea at Alfa outside station on PF#1 side/////
Finally our train arrives at designated time with WAP-7..................
After chugging out a bit late, as the loco attachment took more time in RAINS....
It had its first halt at KCG....
Long stoppage at KCG, Red Signal,PF#2, whereas in the mean time 12785 has departed from PF#3 with extra B coach ....all fully loaded, with only 2 GS coaches ....so many people crowding the GSs..
And on PF#3 has arrived KCG-Chittor Venkatadri Exress in front of 12494(so demeaning to Rajdhani), where a long line of passengers has been formed in RAIN waiting to board GS coaches...
12494 departed at around 1925 from KCG .
CC was B1-B7-PC-A1—A5-H1 and loco Kazipet 18897 WDM3A
Tech stop of 12494 is at Dhone as per staff. Lets see
There is an air flow controller device fitted in cabins...just above the 3-pin plug..Whats It????????????????????????
4 berths are vacant at charting in AC-1, while few pax have not turned up...
TTE sort of orders---u shift to B cabin, whereas I m charted for F cabin...
Heard his tone..and told OK...my berth is in F cabin..Hearing this, he comes to request tone, U r single. so if u want, u can shiift...So Ok...shifted to B cabin..so settled in B cabin..
Another stoppage at 1940 hrs----??
Its around 2000 hrs and it seems now there is no stopping the train really blasting everything, with off course quite comfortable NVH levels inside..
By 2010 its scorching tracks in rain..
In the mean time checked toilet. Its working fine, with Soapy water avbl in the toilet, and flush OK.
Soup arrives at 2024 in red flask with 2 sticks and butter chiplet...
Soup is 5/5
Train almost comes to halt @2033 hrs crossing Balanagar
Halted at 2049 hrs after meandering for about 5 minutes or so//
Dinner @ 2050 hrs.
Veg:- 4 bowls , 1 rice in paper bowl..
4 bowls- Salad, dal sabji, kofta, picle, chapatti and curd...
Lets see
Restarted at 2053 hrs
A passenger train/ICE with sitting acc was coming towards SC.KCG
Food Ok and for a change, curd is sweet and not sour
Food 5/5..
In B/w had signal stoppage @ 2105-2110.
Now @ 2113 again speeding up to make up for lost time
Scorching again @ 2126 hrs,, Could not make out even single passing by stn due to night and rains..
Ar 2131 given Creambell 80 ml butterscotch....
So cold in n out n icecream..............Yummy........
Had a round of GCL entry, not permitted by staff inside , as any Jerk will lead to hand touching control board, and will result in full supply switching off
4 generators..Told by them, out of 4, 2 are online at a time...
Meanwhile at SC, saw loco attachment...getting refreshed in rain....and less crowd
Circular jack of Loco strikes against rectangular jacks of LHbs.
Asked the nearby railman about coupling. Heres how the discussion went:-
Me:- while coupling, you measure lenghth from bottom, with white loco, Not here(hindi+ gestures)[Had seen it earlier at SC]
Reply:- Yes, its done heres also..
Me;thinks; Ok may be they will do it later..
Me:- Why??
Railman :- To check length is proper or not,,, as its CBC coupling, and it may come out, if length is not proper..
Me:-Ok..
Me;- With these coaches only or others also??
He says, with these only as its CBC
Ok, whats CBC?/
He gestures...its like this....the other one is screw coupling..
Me :- checks out.
OK...
He explains,, if it comes out, coaches and loco will separate and pressure will be released and train will stop[...
Ok...then????
Guard will come to know,,/.
But did not see, the length being measured..
Anyway, its atopic still to be researched more
Meanwhile in jouney,
Gadwal X-ed at 2227 slow speed...a Speed restricted zone
Signal halt at 2253 hrs
Xed Alampur Road at 2318 hrs
Dhone LP change @ 0035 -0050.........Guess is Correct, as initially the Lenin man has told, no tech stop, but on prodding about Dhone, he said Yes...

@0545, Now I ve done my daily chores. And its dawn....Still 1 hr to go to reach SBC
Now climbing Makali Ghats@0549. Just about able to pull thro..
Within 5 minutes train is breathing easy now...
@0600hrs again train gasping for breath...though its fresh outside
And now@0606, its rushing as if to make up for lost time...
@0620 its scorching the tracks again,...as if it has realised its goin to get late....

X-ed malleswaram at a breeze, again slows down to enter final territory//
But the trains pride is really seriously dented by..................guess whom???
