AbhiKannadiga~ 5489 blog postsThis train can be easily speeded up by departing Talguppa at 10PM(now it's 9PM) and arrive SBC at 5AM, today train reached Tumkur at 2:30 itself and was held up till 3:30 later reached YPR outer at 4:20 but entered SBC at 5:20, so it took almost 3hrs for 70kms. Guess what the train which left almost 1hr after we departed from SMET (16582 at 11:55PM) reached YPR within 15 mins after our arrival i.e. 4:35.
Delaying dep time to 2200 will make Shimoga at 2350/00 will be inconvenient for Shimoga traveller and 70-80% board the train as night journey to Bengaluru.
At present they have Shivamogga- yevantpur tri-weekly which departs at 11:55PM, so they can make it daily by changing time to 11:45PM SMET and YPR/SBC 5:00AM
Actual problem is High MPS stretch, 275 kms b/n SMET-SBC can be done in 3:30-4:00hrs, so overnight train will be like passenger train bcs it needs to be halted at every main station for 15mins normally to make it into Bengaluru at convenient timings of above 4:30 in morning.
