the station. He inaugurated an escalator on platform number five and gave instructions to officials after inspecting platform number six. The Mayor of Khandwa, Amrita Yadav, met with the GM, raising concerns about the traffic congestion caused by auto-rickshaws being parked outside the station. The GM assured her of addressing the issue. Several organizations, including the coolie union and social institutions, presented memorandums and welcomed the GM. The station master, Arvind Kumar Shah, was awarded Rs 5,000 for his good work and the station's well-maintained facilities. The GM promised to fulfill all demands by March and announced the launch of a train service from Khandwa to Sanawad in March. The GM's visit spurred improvements in the station's facilities, including the commencement of the escalator on platform number five, the installation of a large LED screen to display train information, and the creation of a garden in the outer area. The GM's visit also prompted demands for a new MEMU train for the Khandwa-Sanawad route, a dedicated local train service between Khandwa-Bhusawal-Akola, and a shift in the operating hours of the 11115/16 MEMU train currently running between Bhusawal and Itarsi in the night to daytime. The aim is to improve the passenger experience and make better use of rail resources.

Due to Cyclone Michaung, several train services have been affected on December 5th, 2023. Trains between Sullurupeta and Nellore (06745, 06746, 06750, 06751, 06748, 06747) are cancelled. Additionally, trains from Mumbai CSMT to Chennai Central (22159, 22179) and Chennai Central to Mumbai CSMT (22160, 22180) are partially cancelled, terminating at Renigunta. Several trains are diverted, with different routes being used for trains from Danapur to SMVT Bengaluru (12296), Indore to Kochuveli (22645), Bikaner to Madurai (22632), H. Nizamuddin to Kanniyakumari (12642), SMVD Katra to Chennai Central (16032), Ahmedabad to Chennai Central (12655), New Delhi to Chennai Central (12622, 12616), and Shalimar to Thiruvananthapuram (22642).
