You can do one thing, instead of waiting till the date of journey. Cancel your grand father's ticket and take an other ticket for him. For 3rd August, still 19 berths are available in SS (lower berth) Quota and request the booking clerk for the coach option as S9. Here I suggest you to take a counter ticket (PRS ticket) rather than e-ticket. Because, in counter ticket the clerk might check for the nearest coach if S9 has no availability.
The chances of getting a LB/SLB in the journey is little less (I can't say you won't get), as most of them would travel with families, and single PNR's would be less.

Yeah!! At PRS i said him that we need a lower and please make sure we all come together and there's a Senior Travelling> (although we got while going) he said No No i cannot do anything only 150 available and system will allot now. Then i was like okay fine! then after seeing the ticket these were allotted and immediately i posted here!

Thanks sir for your concerned reply! May not be possible now sir! DOJ will be inconvenient and now my mom wont entertain the cancellation so she said if possible she will request any passenger or else it's fine we will allot MB!!
