requested the introduction of a train line from Narsinghpur to Sagar, the double-tracking of the Chhindwara-Nagpur line, and the resumption of the Dada Dhaam Express. He also requested the inclusion of a stop for the Patalkot Express at Sonagirji, a Jain pilgrimage site, to cater to the religious needs of the local population. Additionally, he advocated for the introduction of the Duranto Express from Chhindwara to Mumbai, the extension of the Vande Bharat Express to Chhindwara from Nagpur and to Ujjain and Indore, and the reinstatement of the stops for various trains at Pandhurna, which has recently been elevated to a district. These stops were previously discontinued due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to heavy rains and flooding in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, South Central Railway (SCR) has cancelled 21 trains and diverted 30 others. The heavy rains caused damage to the railway track between Kesamudram and Mahbubabad in Telangana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to inquire about the situation in both states. Among the cancelled trains are 12669 MGR Chennai Central-Chhapra, 12670 Chhapra-MGR Chennai Central, 12615 MGR Chennai Central-New Delhi, and 12616 New Delhi-MGR Chennai Central. Trains like 12763 Tirupati-Secunderabad, 22352 SMVT Bengaluru-Patliputra, 22674 Mannargudi-Bhagat Ki Kothi, and 20805 Visakhapatnam-New Delhi have been diverted. Telangana Transport and Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Minister, Puna Prabhakar, visited stranded passengers at Kazipet Junction and assured them that train services will resume once the flood water recedes.

Due to remodelling work at Tambaram yard in Chennai, the Southern Railway has announced cancellations and diversions of several train services till August 17th. The Sengottai - Chennai Egmore Pothigai Superfast Express (12662), Tirunelveli - Chennai Egmore Superfast Express (12632), and Kanniyakumari - Chennai Egmore Express (12634) will be short terminated at Chengalpattu. The Kanniyakumari - Hazrat Nizamuddin Thirukkural Express (12641) will be diverted via Villupuram and have an additional stop at Perambur on August 14th. The Howrah - Tiruchy Superfast Express (12663) will be diverted via Perambur, skipping stops at Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Chengalpattu and Melmaruvathur on August 15th. The Chennai Egmore - Karaikal Express (16175) is rescheduled to depart at 10.25 pm from August 7th to 17th.
