The trains carriages are described as “palaces on wheels” and are not only beautifully restored but also boast a wealth of history. Overall it makes for a fascinating, luxurious and also unique journey. From boarding the train at Victoria Station it really did feel like we were stepping back in time.We were greeted by friendly and smartly dressed train staff on boarding the train and shown to our carriage. The carriage décor consisted of art nouveau lamps, polished brass, velvet armchairs, veneered panels and mahogany fittings making us feel like we were on the set of a historic film. This was only accentuated when the British Pullman pulled up along side a standard London commuter train.Looking out of our window it felt like another world, as we rolled into stations I expected old fashioned conductors stood... more... |
