So some indications of complacency at some point of time have started trickling in. Ideally the coach with jammed wheel should have been rectified or detached,or train may have proceeded at a safe low speed till a major station where the rectification of problem was possible. Available technology need to be fully harnessed and work practices/methodology need to be changed accordingly to avoid such incidences. Sensors can be installed which give indication of jammed wheels and other technical defects to loco pilot/guard. But all these call for a substantial investment which is not possible with the very low fare (non ac class) regime and inefficient IR ways of working, unless Govt pays for the subsidies which are currently borne by IR.

least a couple of persons with technical background/ training must travel in the trains, the TTE being a non technical person cannot appreciate these kind of problems.
It is better if persons do multi tasking i.e. do the technical job when required and do non technical job like ticket checking etc during normal time. Other wise employing separate technical and commercial staff in every train shall be too costly for IR. Today there is no dearth of technical institutes/ ITIs/ Polytechnics etc. The present TTE staff may be given a preliminary training about the abnormalities during train operation so that corrective steps can be taken before happening of an accident can. One person should be in-charge of train who should be head of all the IR employees aboard the train and supposedly answerable for all issues of running train like -pax safety/convenience/cleaning/water/meals etc,and technical issues as well.

Yup there should be an attendant in each reserved coach...
And WR should give new coaches to INDB and they should replace the old one...
