This route will fall entirely within the Northeast Railway's jurisdiction, allowing them to operate trains independently. Currently, only one train runs from Kolkata to Kathgodam, which is often fully booked, leaving Gorakhpur passengers without berths. This route will provide a much-needed alternative, as the existing train frequently has over 100 passengers on the waiting list.

Is route par train chalne ki green signal milte hi Gorakhpur se Kathgodam (Nainital) tak ek aur line mil jayegi. Is route ke khulne se Purva Uttar Railway ko dusre railways par depend nahi rehna padega. Pura route hi NE Railway ke kaaryakshetra mein hai, isliye sirf board ki anumati lekar apne time aur tarikh ke anusar chala sakega. Kathgodam ke liye abhi mahaz ek train hai, woh bhi Kolkata se aati hai. Yeh train peeche se hi puri tarah se packed aati hai. Isse Gorakhpur ke yaatriyon ko berth mil hi nahi mil pati hai. Mukhyalaya Kota tak jin yaatriyon ki pahunch hoti hai, wahi do se teen yaatri safar kar pate hai. Is baar ki baarish ka mausam chod den toh baaki samay is train mein 100 se zyada hi waiting rehti hai.
